Spoiler mounting holes
So, I pulled the duct tape covering the spoiler holes. I’m debating filling in the holes or installing a stock wing if I can source one for a reasonable price.
Does anybody know what type of wing would use these holes? It’s a 1997 jdm rx7 that I believe has the rs trim.
Here are the spoiler holes. 3 holes per side.
I also noticed some additional holes on the deck lid that I don’t think are stock (a matching set more towards the front of the car). I’m planning on filling those in along with the rear wiper hole.
Does anybody know what the hole in the deck lid would be for (right side of the pic towards the front of the car)
Is there a trick to removing the deck lid trim? I’m going to need to get under there if I’m going to fill in those holes.
thanks

That looks something like the holes for the "whale tail" looking wing that came stock on a few. Huge flat sucker.
The trim comes off easy enough. Round plastic things. Pull the center of it out, then the whole thing. Once those are out, the panels should pop off with a bit of a tug like removing any other interior panel or door card.
No idea what that extra hole is for, though.

It’s for the 96+ version ‘whale tail’. Not huge, not flat and at least as functional as the earlier version but not as busy IMO. It uses the same inner holes as the stock NADM wing....
Since IIRC they share holes you could source a NADM wing and just add the outer ones.
Hard to tell but could the other inner hole be for a rear wiper?

Thanks guys!
So, it looks like you’ve identified the wing for me. I had figured out the rear wiper delete. That leaves the two small holes far forward. Those were added by a previous owner, so I’m guessing they had an aftermarket wing installed.
