spoiler install
got a tII spoiler in to day.
car has nvr had a spoiler on it b4 so it has no holes. i don't want to mess up on the drilling. and have holes everywhere.
six holes must be drilled
how would you go about installing the spoiler
ideas please.

Get yourself a couple sheets of posterboard.
Tape together to get the width of the spoiler, lay spoiler on board and mark the holes (the studs on the spoiler will make indentations on the board that are easy to see).
Cut out holes in cardboard and push the spoiler studs through, now you can mark the two holes at the very front...while so assembled trace the outline of the spoiler.
Remove spoiler from posterboard and cut out the tracing...at least the outside edges and front arms.
Using the holes on the tracing, find and mark the center of wing.
Find and mark the center of the car, probably easiest to use the third brake light to find the car's centerline.
Now, line up the template with the line on the car and adjust so the outline of the wing looks equal on both sides...mark holes.
Drill holes.
Do you have the proper mount hardware for the two front holes?
They are not through bolts/nuts because you cant access them from underneath...you need the plastic inserts that pop into the body (and require two holes- one for the screw receptical and a second which has a tit that keeps the whole thing from rotating) and accept sheetmetal like screws (which are then covered with little round caps).

my spoiler has two sheet metal screws and plastic caps over them in the front.
after that it has two studs
then it has two screws that screw into the back supports. the studs have been broken off.
