Rx7 fd apexi fc ecu restarting while I知 driving

Hi guys slight problem with my fd. Exhaust heat light comes on now and then while I知 driving this causes the car to stutter for a brief second and sometimes switch off all together. While this happens the Apexi Fc hand held restarts or reboots on me ( screen turns off then back on) .Can anyone help me please. Thanks

Off-hand I'm not sure what's going on, but it might help to post any modifications...exhaust, fuel, tune etc. And what have you done so far to diagnose the issue? Have you checked the sensor screen?

Brief Mods on the car include
blitz fmic
koyo rad
aem uprated coil pack
border burnout full 3” system
Runnning on non sequential twin turbos
fuel pressure regulator
455lph fuel pump
infini y pipes
blitz super sonic air filter

ive checked the connection from the lcd screen to the ecu and it’s fine
ive also checked the wires plugging into the ecu and they all seem to be secure
can’t really understand why it throws the exhaust heat light out then Ecu reboots it’s self

Anymore info needed on the car please ask

Go to the sensor screen on the commander and see what is shaded.
Those “uprated” coils might be something to check. I was just reading how a bad leading coil or improperly routed leads can cause stupid high EGTs which could explain your warning light...and possibly the stalling.

I’ve heard that the exhaust heat light is used as a check engine light when running a apexi fc.
When I get in to my car first thing in the morning and turn the ignition on the head unit turns on and the lights and windows work fine. After like a minute or so while the ignition is on a single click noise is msde from the engine bay then the apexi fc screen turns on. I’m possibly thinking a bad relay of some sort?

I would look at the main relay. It is the green one NF02-18-821A

you'll have to monitor the voltage from the main relay to the ECU to see if its dropping much below 12v, this might require an external datalogger. i don't recall if the ECU itself has an option to check the input voltage, even if it does you need the datalogit.

if the commander is unplugged or plugged in while the car is running, it can cause the issue youre having. check the connection at the power fc and make sure its tight and not somehow loose and the vibrations of the car are causing it to intermittently not work.

I致e checked The connections to the power fc n they all seem to be secure and tight. Seems like taking it to a specialist is the only way

I致e checked the connections and they seem to be secure and tight. Nothing loose. Probably get it looked by a specialist soon.

Have you tried getting a friend or someone that has another power FC and see if that helps. Your PfC might be on its way out. That’s one way to make sure you can rule out a bad PFC.
