oil pressure problem
So as it says im having an oil pressure problem with my fc. One day while driving it I pushed it and since then has had this problem. It stays at 30psi when putting a load on it or not. Sometimes the pressure drops to 15psi when its driven. I checked and changed the oil sending unit with a new one. And I was told by a buddy of mine to check the oil cooler to make sure its working. Can anyone help me with this problem? I checked mazdatrix online and it said it most likely is the front cover o-ring. Not sure what to do or how to go about this.

It has nothing to do with the oil cooler.
Verify that the pressure is low with another gauge. If it is actually low (and not the gauge) then it sure does sound like a blown out front cover o-ring.

That sucks.
Well, the job involves pulling the front engine accessories, passenger engine mount and oil pan. It is rather involved. I'd figure that a competent mechanic with a factory service manual/Haynes manual could do it it just under 6 hours. Then you have about $50 worth of gaskets. I've done this exact job before and start to finish it's about 1 working day (with breaks, lunch, fooling around, etc.).
Anyone doing the job needs to also read this:

I'd suggest Tri-Point Engineering in Canoga Park. They are a lot closer to you than Mazda Trix (although I think Mazda Trix could certainly do the job well).
Tri-Point is on Deering Court off the 101. Call and talk to Mark.
