Oil drain plug

On my 84 gsl-se, I feel utterly stupid, but I cant find it...

Passenger or drivers side of the vehicle?

The drivers side seems to have a oil cooler line and a sensor, on the passenger side all I can find is a grease covered 90 degree elbow with what feels like a quick release.

Im hoping im just being blind, or at some point some one changed the plug to an easy drain that isnt working.

Please help, im feeling like ive gone full mental here

(ive had the car for only a few months and am just now starting to get into fixing and repairing)

Thank you, ill dig more tonight, and get the degreaser and pressure washer out.

Cant drive it right now, the exhaust is still in parts, but vacation soon and I would like to get to work on it.

Appreciate the help.

gearwrench has these great new oil pan bolt sockets that are magnetized to keep the bolt from falling into the hot oil (I hate that!) also has a nice knurled ring around it to

Yip -= on the hump. Though - someone may have moved it!

Sounds like someone has replaced the plug with the elbow - probably for good reason.

All the best - Rusty

Seems its been moved to the passenger side and on an elbow.

There is just nothing on the hump on the drivers side besides a sensor.

Will crack it open later today(hopefully) and see whats there.

I feel so dumb

It was on an elbow, after I removed it and got it cleaned up I now have a working drain there.

Wish I new more of the cars history, but thanks to those who posted.

Fluids all changed now, just need to decide how I want to approach the exhaust and then I can finally get this thing as my work driver!

Well in between replacing fenders and working on the minor surface rust here an there :P

Working on a car thats not familiar to you and has been modified by others is always tricky!
