Keep it cool 87 Turbo II

I have a 87 Turbo II full bridge and it seems to run hot obviously when boosting. Anyone suggest a good fan setup? Maybe oil cooling? Max temp I allow its 3/4 on the temp gauge, won't let that thing touch the H ever!

Any suggestions would be great, some of the issue is airflow. My FMIC by corksport blocks a lot of air to that thing.

Replace that old and clogged stock rad. Make sure there are no pinhole leaks in the system and that your thermostat is working properly.

If your mechanical clutch fan is working, then leave it as it moves more air then an e-fan ever could.

If you need to install an e-fan: http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/efaninstall.htm

Replace rad with something like a Fluidyne (if you can find one) or Koyo. Make sure the shroud and underbody pan are in place as well.

I'm running a modestly-modified S5 Turbo car w/Fluidyne rad in track events, and even with high ambient temps of Summer have not seen coolant and oil temps that are of concern. You might want to also invest in some real gauges so you can more closely track temps.

its can be a good idea to take the thermostat out becasue they can seize up and destroy your engine

Removing the thermostat would be a very bad idea. The RX-7 uses a bypass style thermostat. If you just pull out the thermostat without other modifications, cooling system capacity will be greatly reduced.

Removal of the thermostat is nothing but a hack. Fix the actual problem instead of pulling the thermostat which will introduce far more problems.

Electrical fan, aftermarket radiator, 75/25 coolant distilled water, and you might want to try radiator relief by DET, it drops your coolant temps by 30 degrees. I tried it in my z06 and it really works. You can also try a fan controller to turn your fans on sooner.

Put a thermostat in the car. The previous owner is an idiot.
