i just need a question answered

what could cause my 88rx 7 to start rev up then die out all in 5 seconds of the car starting

Probably other possibilities, but off-hand a lack of fuel...as in a fuel pump failure.

Welcome to the board.

Off the cuff, I would think either a some sort leak in the intake tract after the AFM, but before the throttle body, or a huge vacuum leak.

i experienced the same thing when my fuel lines were crossed. also check inline fuel filter and flow as well as the fuel pump sock filter.

i agree with the lack of vacuum remark. it happens with most older v8s, so i don't see why it couldn't very well happen to the 13b
