To get the engine mounted youll need a GSL-SE oilpan and a GSL-SE front cover.

To fuel the EFI youll need an external EFI fuel pump or have the tank modified to accept an intank EFI pump(what I did).Youll also need a fuel line.I used the stock FB feed line and another FB feed line for the return.Same size now as stock TII lines.

To power the EFI you need to fabricate a left side harness. This harness feeds the coils,CAS,fuel pump relay and the ECU power relay. Its about 15-20 wires.Easy to do,but only if you have the factory manual. The right side harness is a plug and play between the engine and ECU,about 40-50 wires.

If your gonna run stock EFI youll need every little piece of the stock EFI.Boost sensor, baro sensor,AFM,injector resistor, variable resistor, knock control box, fuelpump relay/resistor,ECU relay, opening relay and all the junk attached to the engine.

This applies to the 87-87.5 and the 87.5-88 model years of TII.There are small changes between the 2,dont mix and match because the injector resistance's are different and there were changes to the ECU and wiring.89-91 is another story. The electric oil metering pump requires a custom front cover to work, but the wiring is simpler and the EFI is quicker and more refined.I much prefer my S5 setup over the S4,but it was a bit of a hassel to pull off.

You should install a TII transmission too.The 1st gen box wont hold up for long under the torque of the TII.The TII box will require some tailshaft mods and a custom driveshaft, but itll hold up to a well built turbo engine with no problems.

Also, the S4 turbo/manifold sucks. The S5 turbo/manifold is a great upgrade which wont boost creep and bolts right on.It does require an aftermarket boost controller though,if your running a S4 ECU.

so your saying i have to pull part a perfectly good motor? What is the problem with just swapping the entire motor?

just the oil pan and front cover, the steering has to have the pan change for clearance, and the engine mounts via the front in a FB not on the side in a FC.

FC rearend swap has been discussed over and over, but would require quite a bit of engineering since the FB chassis is designed around a solid axle and the FC uses IRS.

Max7 is correct.Pulling the oilpan is simple and neccesary. The front cover is a little more involved, but not terribly difficult. Both must be changed due to the FC having midship motor mounts and R&P steering. The 1st gen's motor mount goes to the front cover and the standard steering linkage is right under the engine.

you also need to redrill the tranny mount and make a spacer (for s4, s5 is much more involved) and you also need to modify the shift linkage to accept the FB shifter assembly.

there is a good writeup on the shifter in the archive somewhere and the spacer needs to be 3/4 in thick

In addition to everything in my thread Chronicles of a Turbo II Swap, add the following:

13b to 12a engine mounting bracket (RB or make your own)
High pressure inline fuel pump
high pressure fuel filter
engine bay fuses for EGI

Scott
