Exclamation Help Needed electrical problem 84 RX7 GSL SE

Hi Guys here goes this will be a long winded one.

Bought a 84 GSL SE which wasnt running, It had no spark and the previous owner had chopped the ignitor wires inside the distributor and lost the cover so i ordered a Dizzy from the Mainland (im in Hawaii) and ignitors etc installed it and still no spark. checked the coils and i had spark coming from my leading coil only i tested the trailing coil and that was dead so i replaced it with a brand new one (someone wired a monster tacho straight of the coil) i also checked the ignitors by swapping them over on the dizzy and both ignitors will fire the coils. I tested for power and i have no power going to the trailing ignitor or coil???? the engine bay fuseable links were replaced with a 86-93 inline fuse holder. i wired it all up according to the respective wiring diagrams and the engine cranks im just not getting spark from the trailing coil or the dizzy cap.

Please help if you can

Thanks David

thank you RXnos1200 still no spark or current

Ok so I tried bridging the positive terminals on both coils and I had power on the trailing coils positive terminal. I tested the negitive on the coil and both wires on the trailing ignitor and still nothing. Is there a relay or something between the coils and the ignitors? Also I noticed that the negitive plug for my trailing coil has 2 wires coming from it.

All help is greatly appreciated

as long as the leading ign is working, and of course fuel in the carb, the engine will run regardless if the trailing is or not.

I checked those too. I tested my leads on the L coil which is sparking and then hooked them up to the cap and got nothing. Because its the injected engine could the comp have something to do with it? Thanks a lot for all the help guys I really appreciate it

I have been reading on other forums and this appears to be a common problem. I'm an 84 12A owner who's going though his ignition system too.

Starter solenoid it perhaps one of the relays feeding the coils or the coils or ignitors?
