The flames are from an overly rich mixture (we all do it when we mod for safety) when you close the throttle it takes a tad longer for the ecu to figure out it doesnt need to push that much fuel through the injectors. the exess fuel ends up in the exhaust so when you fire up the gas again it ignites the fuel.

Just a cat delete with a strait through exhaust should do the trick. You can just research it, you'll find 1,000 threads where his "issue" has been covered.

You adjust the tuning on your ecu.

While going rich is adjusting the tuning on the safe side, if you're not sure how to do it I think you should find a tuner who's familiar with your ecu setup. They may ask why you're ruining what might be a well optimized tune, so explain what your goals are.

^ what he said.

if you removed all 3 cats, then just rev the **** out of it. It'll pop.

Post pictures after you set the car on fire though. If you're lucky it'll only melt your rear bumper off, but I've seen quite a few FDs and FCs that were completely lost because of rotary afterburn.

It's all in good fun, until somebody loses a muffler!

Afterburners are for jets.

i was thinking about cutting a cat out. i think it's clogged, it's over heating.. i'm using a lot of coolant plus it's burning up this hose that connects to it and to a thin metal tube that leads to the engine.

i think the exhaust recirculates through the engine because when it was connected i was getting better gas mileage now in the city or in lower gears i believe i'm using up a lot of gas.

what i wanted to know is.. if i cut that cat, should i weld that 90 degree piece from the cat onto the straight pipe? or what i'm not sure what to do about it?

Will this happen on an NA? I have no emissions stuff, and a Corksport 3 inch exhaust. I have cats but I swear I hear the damn thing popping loud enough to shoot a flame sometimes

The "pops" you hear are probably producing flames, but you can't exactly watch while you're driving. It's easy to do on a stock car with no cats.
