Chugging 91 S5 ??

Chugging 91 S5 ??
Hey guys my name is chris (theciscokid187). I just recently purchased a 1991 mazda rx7. I have a few questions that i need answered any info is greatly appreciated.
First question is that I noticed when I am in third gear the car starts to lug really hard almost as if your releasing the clutch to early in first an its gonna stall, then I shift into forth then it goes fine for a lil then it does it again an in Fifth its ok.
I have replaced the fuel filter an I am gonna get a new fuel pump an replace that as well to see if it will fix the problem.
I also forgot to mention that the car hasn't been driven for a while so I was also wondering if it might do that just cause it has been sitting for a while?
