Can you pass SMOG in California?

Yes, you can pass smog here in California with your RX7. I have a 1989 T2 and yesterday she pass smog with flying colors. As long as you have the right parts installed and new sensors. You can pass smog.

ANY stock car can pass smog tests as long as EVERYTHING is working properly. Just cause its a rotary doesn't mean its an instaban

Yeah I was told that I was wasting my time and just do a dirty smog cause I would never pass SMOG..

I passed back in January, 82GSL Carb and everything stock. If all else fails put 2 or 3 Cats. Then its gotta pass right?

Really need the air pump for the cats to do their job. There is a valve that diverts the air pump back into the intake at a certain rpm, but it tends to fail and then the air pump is always routed back to the intake so your cats don’t get any air at lower rpm. This causes a lot of cars to fail that have perfectly good cats. Easy fix is just bypass valve, run hose from air pump straight to the metal pipe that goes down to the car. Just don’t rev too high when running like this, drive to test station, pass your test, and then hook the air pump back up to the broken valve.
