Buying a new car and need some questions answered.

I'm buying my first 1991 rx7 turbo here hopefully in the next week and the guy im getting it from says the rock and pinion boot and the oil pan gasket, and the turbo might have a slight oil leak and need to be fixed before daily driving it but he has the parts. He just rebuilt the engine, the clutch has been replaced, the fly wheel and exhaust has been replaced too. I just need someone that knows alot about these cars to tell me if this is gonna be a good or a bad buy.

Other than recommending a compression check on this recent rebuild there’s not a lot to say. No way anyone can do an internet evaluation on that car. Other than possibly the turbo, nothing you mentioned needing fixed is unique to a rotary. If you’re not capable, find a friend or take it to a trusted shop and pay someone to look the car over.

And unless you’re a committed gear-head and able to do most of your own work, I don’t think a 30 year old forced induction sports-car is a very good choice for a daily driver for an 18 yr old with (presumably) limited funds.

Well I won’t say it’s impossible, but it’ll sure as hell be expensive and frustrating. Be prepared to not have the new iPhone so you can afford this car.
