it refuses to start without that and it idles at around 1050 rpms . if it falls too far below that it dies.i have replaced almost all the vac lines and it starts fairly quick if gas is poured down carb it will usually stay running after it starts.

any tips where i should check for vac leaks or any tips in general would be appreciated thanks!

get a copy of the FSM and the Nikki manual from www.foxed.ca

You are simply going to have to find and repair all the vacuum leaks before you tackle this issue in earnest. It will be tedious (and probably frustrating), but it makes no sense to start messing with the carburetor until the vacuum leaks are gone because you will be creating more problems.

After you have dealt with the leaks, the next things on the agenda will be cleaning the carb, and setting the mixture according to the FSM.
