Change Transmission oil be poured in through the shifter hole?

I was wonder if instead of running a tube to the top hole if you could just pour the oil into the shift loation while it is out?

Thanks

no you cannot. once the shifter is out, it is really it's own reservoir separate from the rest of the tranny.

if you don't have already, get a pump and hose kit from the auto parts store which will make replacing the trans fluid much easier.

Luke, you can run a longer hose out of the fill hole and up through the shifter area (if you can't find a decent pump).

And don't use cold oil. I filled with stuff that was cold from setting in the garage in March, and it was very slow running. The long hose trick works well - make it long enough you can hold it at least waist high.
