Hey guys. Trying to figure out an issue with my car. Pretty much stock 2000 type r jdm import. Only mods are cat back and the solenoids have been upgraded with mac solenoids. Pressue and vac tanks work great. Perfect boost pattern/transition aswell, but after a high rpm event i get no primary boost until the rpm goes lower than 3000. It adds also has an deeper exhaust note and slow to spool. Is this normal for a stock fd? My gut tells me its either the turbo control actuator/ wategate or prespool sticking open. That would explain the exhaust sound i guess. it seems weird that at less than 3000rpm on the dot that the primary kicks back in hard everytime. Im just not sure if thats how the stock system works. Im thinking to attach a test light to the turbo control solenoids to see if there is a voltage signal at this point. Is it possible that there could be an incorrect adjustment on the turbo actuator rods aswell? Thx in advance for ur help!

 

This sounds eerily similar to an issue I'm having with my turbo response. Sometimes I can get it to "turn on" again if i blip the throttle a couple of times in that low boost area. Don't know why.
In the next couple of weeks I'll hopefully have some time to work with my local tuner to try to figure out what's up. Subscribing to this thread in case someone figures it out sooner. Hopefully I'll remember to post if I do...

 

Just ordered a cheapo webcam on ebay to mount under the twins. Will be hotter than satans anus so will see if it lasts long enough to record the problem.
