1984 gsl-se won't stay on

I have an 84 gsl-se no mods just stock. I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, wires, plugs, rotor and cap. She fires up but won't stay on. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Big question is was it running before you did all this?

Check the map sensor on the intake box to see if its either loose due to a missing retaining spring, or if its just bad.

It was running but sitting for a while.. After turning it on I noticed lots of gasoline coming out the exhaust.. I checked the injectors none of them seem to be stuck open.

How long does it run? revs, symptoms? does it cut suddently and the engine spins down?

If it starts, revs to ~3K, and cuts/dies moving the key from the start to on position it may be an AirFlowMeter (AFM) fuel cut. From an old FB post:
Try inserting a jumper wire into the AFM bypass jumper near the AFM

(For 13B FB, see T connector, pg 301 haynes, B-25 Short connector of fuel)

- pg15, a circuit open relay may also cause this:

Some other possibilities
- bad water temp sensor could cause problems
- bad trailing coil/igniter

Most issues I have had were due to bad/corroded grounds and connectors.

did you clean the little pre filter that looks like a dunce cap? sometimes it gets hung up in the rubber fuel line. can easily get missed when you replaced the fuel pump.
