Hey Kenny,
Yea I am still around. I sold my blue rx7 about two years ago I think. Any way one just fell into my lap recently. I'm going to pretty it up and hand it over to the wife.

I bought my first fd back in 1999 or 98, I can't remember which. There never have been very many around. I think even in the hay day of '03-'04 there were only a couple that I saw on a regular basis.

Anyway,
I'm Dave, Hi

Pleased to meet you! Man I wish I was into 7s back then. I feel like such a "me too" only recently getting into them, like I missed all the fun. But yeah if i wanted to fit in I'd just buy a mustang I suppose.

Dave - Shot you a PM. Yea i met the guy you sold the car too a year or so ago. He told me he blew the motor and traded it towards a white R32 skyline that he also cant keep on the road.

I'm over in Lusby now.

Kenny,

That kid was kind if a retard for lack of a better word. I have him a three page handbook I wrote up on the car and all it's little quirks, how to take care of it etc. I got a call not even a week after I sold it and he pulled it all apart down to the block, not sure why when it was turn key.
I told him that all he had to do was drive it, and if he started wrenching on it he would run into problems.

So anyway I wasn't surprised. It actually showed back up on Craigslist last year and I called the guy and told him the history of the car. He was trying to get $18,500 for it. I told him good ******* luck! It was trashed best I could tell from the pics he had on Craigslist of it.

Anyway, in picking up my new on this Saturday.
Bone stock 93 touring model, Vintage red with black interior. 140k miles on it. Zero modifications, buying from the original owner.
It's got a new engine and turbo in it but the exterior and seats need some love.
I'm going to restore it back to its former glory and keep it all stock aside from some reliability mods.
It doesn't even have a boost gauge in it!

Anyway I'll post some pics when I get it home.

Oh yea you missed quite a bit, Rikki, the GMonsen /PFS scandals, the early Rotorfests, The Maryland BBQ's. etc..
It used to be quite a scene.

Likewise Brent,
i spend my fair amount of time in that tractor supply myself. I'll be working on tags for my car this coming week. I'll drive it over your way when I get it on the road for sure. I'd love to get a ride in your car. i've been in a 20b fd but never one with a v8. It sounded awesome when you were pulling out.

Thumbs up

Okay well after three years of no RX7 in my garage. I bought another one. I scored this 93 touring from the original owner in Arlington. Va. She has 140k miles on the chassis.

The good news is that the engine, turbos, radiator, AST,coolant hoses & tires were all replaced recently at the dealership. Also this car is bone stock with absolutely zero modifications done. Not even a boost gauge has ever been installed on the car.

The bad news is that the suspension is shot, specifically the rear passenger side which is bottoming out, the diff bushings need to be replaced, the original stock exhaust is on it's last legs and the paint has seen better days. Also it's RED. Ugghhh, Not my favorite FD paint color to be honest. There are a few minor dents here and there, and the drivers seats leather needs to be replaced. I got this car for a unheard of price though so I'll deal with the bad.

Anyway, pics of my twenty year old new fd.

Yea got a 01 Viper now with a paxton supercharger kit. Couldn't deal with them torque-less 4bangers anymore

But its down at the moment. Dropped a intake valve seat in cylinder 7 and took out the piston and the head a couple weeks ago.

You still at the same location Dave? Maybe next time i'm down in ol' Charles county I'll swing by.
