All you Southern MD guys.

Any truth to this??

Guy comes in my store and ask if I was the one with the RX7.
I replied yes. Then he tells me, that I should take my car to some legal street races.
I replied "Legal street racing, there is no such thing" So I asked him to explain.
Guy goes on to tell me, that they race up in "Brandywine" across the street from
a 301 liquors, at a new light. Then I ask him, is it near or at the "power plant".
He said yes, and that its huge, like 200 cars and etc. I was like " really, I thought
they cops stoped all that a couple of years ago". So he tells me, that every
wednesday they all meet up at a Safeway in Waldorf, (about 200 cars) like a car show
then they go and do some real racing. He said he used to go to V street and Metro
and he said, its bigger than what they used to be back in the day.
I was like " WOW " it must be really big.

I asked if there were any fast cars. He said, yea.. there are EVO's STI's and some Trans
Ams. Then I chuckled.. I gave him a sarcastic laugh.

But anyways..

SO IS THIS A HOT SPOT IN SOUTHERN MD??? and IF SO.. WHEN DO YOU *******
WANT TO GO AND PUT SOME SMACK DOWN. Im running 12's with really badly slipping
clutch.. So I can still shake some of them ******* down..

Let me know. Oh yea.. on a side note.. Guy states that there alot of "GIRLS" that
go up there.. So who knows.. Maybe not even to race, but to see some eye candy
won't be bad..

Sean I can confirm that is partialy true. I seen the cars gathered at the Safeway near the Red Robin. I have heard there are street races as well. I don't really get into that scene any more. Even if i had an engine now I don't think I would be going there.
I can promise you the races are NOT legal. It is the *** end of PG county though so I can see how they can get away with it.

I know a guy who had a SRT-4 who used to go to those races. I'm not into street racing, so I've never been. I will be at the DC region autoX tomorrow though. Hopefully I'll be able to start working on the 7 tomorrow evening.

Can I borrow the socket for the flywheel from someone on Thursday or Friday? Tomorrow I believe I'll be able to get the engine out of the car to make the swap.

Yeah man I have one. You need the 52mm right? Its a craftsman so if you use it on an impact and it breaks I'll just get another for free. Do you need a pilot berring puller too?

I can run away from the 600's. I wanted to get into it with a 750 but didn't get a shot at one yet.

That's true. The seven is very capable. Not too far from that kind of performance. Better looking too. I wish I could afford to upgrade mine. Maybe in a couple of years...

Mine was running the day you came over. I just hadn't finished putting all the little stuff back on (undertray, spoiler, etc). I finally gave up trying to figure out a good place to mount a tank for the water injection. I'm just using the washer fluid tank. I'll be cleaning my windsheild with 50% distilled water and 50% alcohol from now on!

Ok you southern MD fockers...

I got some more verification about the racing thats going on in Waldorf.
But from older guys.. thats been around during the hay days of
V street and Metro.

guy say its a 1/2 mile 3 lane strip they race on.

With atleast 200+ cars that attend and growing. with
hundreds of spectators.

Fast cars are like 600hp Evos, 700hp mustangs, High HP Trans ams.
and other various ricers and etc. But no RX7 representation.

Come on guys, lets meet up one wedmesday night and roll down in our 7's..

Yea, every time I think about that I think "well I should move the battery too."
I want to move the batt and the WI system under the storage bins, but I don't want to cut up the originals. One of these days I'll buy a spare set of bins that I can cut without feeling guilty.

That's pretty wild. Where are the police during these "events?"
I'd love to go, but I'm 50 years old, so the chances of me getting laid are slim....and of course we all know that would be the point of kicking some muscle car/ricer ***.

I still think its stupid that they still race there. Go ahead and guy and take the risk of getting your car impounded. Have fun with that ****.

And I am down in VA Beach now, been here since thursday evening. Very nice place, and I will probably move down here in a few months.
