welp... have to say that the new f&f is better than the rest. Lots of 350's and FD's. Very sad part though about 1/2 way through. just turn your eyes away for about 2 mins and you will miss the veilside fd get crushed.
So when's the next meet? Hopefully I'll be joining the ranks of SoMD 7 owners.
I'm pretty much decided on picking up a '88 GTU from a friend with a blown motor. I'm going to look around for a used motor I can swap in.

hey prod, I may have a motor you can use in a few weeks if you get that gtu. I am in white plains off of billingsley.
I saw a fc convertible yesterday on 301 rt. 5. it was that medium blue, and looked stock.

^I'm a Lusbian.
I put my new downpipe on this weekend..took longer than I expected. I forgot I had cut off the stud on the cat to make the old one fit. Had to drill it out. Anyway, I'm sure I lost some power because with the leaks on the old one, it might as well have been straight pipe.
The car is really quiet now. It almost sounds like a car instead of an outboard.

motor is a reman with around 20k on it, and I have documentation of it. was installed by koons mazda I believe about 6 years ago. I wanna go turbo or nothing at all on the 88. I know it'll be more but its worth it I think.
prod, I will let you know though when I get the motor pulled. I just don't know if it will start right up.

The plan is to try not to screw up anything else while working on it : ) I hope I can just unbolt it and put some "Right Stuff" on it and put it back on. Of course I could be wrong.

PM'ed you. I'm leaving for a weeks vacation on Saturday, so I may not be able to get back to you until I get back.

Josh it is an hour job for someone who knows what they are doing. A first timer can expect to make a day out of it. Pre-soak the bolts with the Fabulous PBlaster about a day in advance. Your also going to need to replace the gaskets and the nuts when you go to re-install the turbos. The nuts on there are supposed to be replaced once you remove them.
Why are you porting the wastegate anyway? Are you over boosting now?

My life sucks, big time. I was driving to work this morning and had a fuel leak. It actually caught fire for about 30 seconds until I put it out. I still haven't figured out where the leak is, but now that I've taken the UIM off I can see there is some damage to the wiring. The leak is along the fuel rail some where, but I dont know how to find it without running the car. Again I'd like to mention my life sucks, but it could have been worse.

Sounds like a leaking fuel injector to me. There is a way you can check if the injectors are working or not, but I dont recall and I am ******* grumpy right now!
And ****, the FC is so ******* cramped up, those damned trans bolts are hard to get to. I am just gonna disconnect the driveshaft and undo the motor mounts. I wanted to separate the motor from the trans, but that's too much work!
If anybody wants to help out sometime, let me know. My friends are all ******** and don't wanna help me out. I will pay for the beer.
