I could use a short shifter, and at $120, I think I could get that before some other things. I also need wheels and tires(5 lug). Any one got some they're looking to get rid of? Anyway, I'm gonna start working on my rex tomorrow. I bought a new battery, plugs, wires, all the exterior lights, and such. Should be fun, until those god-awful mosquitos start buzzing around.

oh joy, more good news tonight. I can't bring my 7 up to richmond for a while, I'm having issues with the linkage in my tranny. Don't know what I'm going to do. If you guys know where I can get a S4 TII tranny for cheap that would rock.
I did something stupid
I stopped by Capital Mazda this afternoon to see if they had any RX-8s. They have 5! Two are automatics, the others were red, black, and dark grey, red one is sold though. The black one was badass! They are a lot smaller than I thought they would be. They also have HUGE blindspots, but I think I could deal with that. I have the fever! This is trouble.
David, I still may want that s5 interior. Are you looking to get rid of the car asap? I ask because it may take me a week or two to get down there to look at it. Let me know.

Ok, I'll sell my car, buy your TII, and then you'll have a down payment for your new black RX-8. How's that sound?
If I had my suspension in your car, I'd be dead in a week. Live fast die young, right?

Overall I was impressed with the car. The car is not nearly as big as it appeared in the pictures, the back seat has a lot of headroom, but not much legroom when someone over 6' or so is up front. Seats are very solid and feel almost as though they are designed by recaro or sparco. The six speed transmission is very nice, very short throw but it does take a little getting used to the gears being so close, it is very easy to down or upshift into the wrong gear. I think I could get used to it though. I don't like the digital speedometer but again, I could deal. After reading several posts last week about the RX-8 being low on RWHP I was looking forward to seeing how it felt. I can definately say it did not feel like 250 FWHP. I am pretty confident my car could keep up with it unless the other person launches like Zach..
Also, I did not like the throttle response. It reminds me of a fly-by-wire system. You can definately tell there is not a direct linkage in there, throttle response is very lethargic. (I am guessing this has something to do with emissions or more probably, gas economy). I took the car on the interstate and through a few twisty on and off-ramps. It handled very good, much better than it accelerated. I can say I am definately hooked, but will probably wait until the turbocharged version (if that comes to fruition) or until things like the low hp issues are worked out. Go for a drive and see what you think. (A shirt and tie works wonders by the way!

I'm not very impressed with the rx-8 either. It looks nice, but I just don't think it will come up to the 7's standard. Sure, with a new ecu, and a complete exhaust, it would be better, but then you'd be out of almost 40,000. Any ways, my computer was smokin earlier, and I think it's gettin ready to again, so I should probably turn it off.
And you could have one bad *** 3rd gen for 40,000.
Well, my last day at my 9-5. I guess I won't be here as much as I used to.
Here's another MS wheel on a black car. I think the gold should be more bronze.
