I don't know how often you're up in richmond but there almost always someone here http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...Coffee%20Shops for the Friday night meetup and then there are a few of us that also regularly autocross withe this VMSC, see the website for time and locations www.vmsc.org
Off the bat I'd say start saving for a replacement radiator if you have the stock original, 'bout $300 for a nice dual pass all alumonum rad from Koyo.

Thanks Niburu. I may swing by the hang out on my way up to my sisters or up to nova. (considering it's about 1-2 hours away from salem). With the winter months coming in I'm actually focused more on the internal trim and stuff of the cockpit. pretty much the previous owner hashed it real good probably trying to install the after market stearo. and who knows up at the warning lights. I just placed an order with Mazda and should be getting the pieces this friday (that's if they guy didn't just walk off with my credit card number). As for the radiator the one i got in there looks to be in pretty good condition. but for when i do replace it with the Koyo how long will it take to drop in and bolt down? for my old school integra it took maybe an hour and a half for it. would it take about the same amount of time? and which shortshifter kit do you recommend?

Koyo has a direct replacement for our oem rad, everything lines up perfect so it shouldn't take too long - 2 hours max. The reason I warn people about the oem rad is the top and bottom are made of plastic - the second week I had my FC the top split down the length of the radiator. Also with a dual pas rad you will have zero heat issues.
I hope Mazda isn't raping you too bad on those peices.

yeah... i spent like three days calling around and emailing junk yards and specialty stores. no one has 'em. if i had the times and means i'd make an injection mold so i could just build an injection molder later... but meh. just don't have the means when you're a full time college student

I couldn't find the edit button for a previous post i had

But check it: i'm designing a FC3S specific CAI that replaces the stock OEM intake all the way up to the MAF sensor. When I get some time from school/work i'll take better measurements but right now i'm working on portion from the throttle body to the first fitting (i'm planning on getting in touch with a guy i know in california to quote me a price for construction and shipment with some of his own products). But here are some pictures of it so far. Still have to do some tweaks, but what do you think?

And if anyone wants to help me out that would be great. Basically I need good measurements. Right now i'm just guessing with a main apature of 3" for the intake and the outside is roughly 5.5 inches to each screw while being somewhere around 6 inches on eash side. and the diameter of each screw is .25 inch. this is also assuming that the throttle body is roughly an equalateral triangle. So anyone got any specs I could look at?

Future plans for this are to make it just a straight bolt on attachment so that it takes less than 5 minutes to bolt on. also the end product won't have a 90 degree turn anywhere in it. and the heat swamp should be taken care of if my thought works out right.

any comments or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Corksport has some stuff you may wanna look at http://www.corksport.com/store/categ...rx-intake.html
they also have a nice set of strut tower braces that are essentially Cusco knock-offs, I've been liking them so far $150 for the front and rear set

Joe, I pulled the motor and found one dead rotor and two dead housings. The rear housing looks like it has been damaged for a long time; something smacked the housing at the exhaust port and started some wicked chrome flaking. No apex seal damage in the rear, so the rotor is OK. The front rotor had a chipped apex seal that caused a few large scratches in the housing and damaged the apex seal groove in the rotor.

All the parts for rebuild have been ordered. I'm dumb to computers so I might need your help. I don't have the software, either.

I also ordered a set of spinnin dubs.

ok guys my t2 is up for sale. you should know what it is by now. I have it in the classifieds with 2 people interested in it but would like to sell it local.

I just figure I could invest this money instead of having it tied up into my cars.
It gets pricey modifying and insuring 2 vehicles at the same time while making car payments on the new car. I guess I need grow up a bit and invest for a new home.

I have a hunch that could have been the ball bearings I fed thru the intake while the motor was running to extrude hone it.

Software:
http://www.microtechefi.com/microtech-software.php

That site also has a forum as well, it's been ages since I've visited them. I had a hunch prior to the high speed test run that the motor was half dead at any rate

How'd the oil seals look? It was getting a small amount of blue smoke at idle when cold. Did the chipped seal do any damage to the turbo's hot side? I guess you also found that extra part of the old harness that I took off with some limb cutters

The oil seals looked fine. I haven't inspected the turbo. If it is damaged, I want my money back.

Yeah, I found a bunch of stuff underneath the intake that can be removed. It sure is easier to figure out what goes where when half the stuff isn't being used!
