Technically, you are blamed. I mean... unless someone just nudged your car into the curb as you were driving it that is.. because driver error wouldn't cause such a thing, now would it? har har. I got my bushings in today, and should be getting my endlinks soon along with other free racing beat stuff since they messed up wee!

judging by the grinding and squealing noises I am getting I believe my rear diff is officially toasted
looking at a used 4.3 limited slip for a GTU's from the club here
I'll have to give Mitchum a call and see what he has laying around in those junkers
anyone have a spare FC diff laying around they wanna give away or sell for cheap

I should probably get a whole set of spare drivetrain parts before the next autoX season starts to be on the safe side

Driveline parts are what is going to break when you race a car.
The FC has seen about a dozen autocrosses and 2 trackdays at VIR this year and additionaly counteless togue runs on the Blue Ridge Parkway plus two 8 hour trips up to NY in the last 2 months. The car has been driven hard this past year poor thing, wait till next season! muahahahahahaha!
So the guy I'm buying the GTUs rear shall be dropping it of round noon tomorrow at my house. Can't wait to see the difference once it's in.
I'll see whoever shows at Starbuck's tonight around 8-10.

good god i cant believe this thread is still alive...

looks like me and my buddy are going to be building another 2.3t first gen. (unless we decide to go 302), so ill be hanging around the forum once again. im also going to try to make it to the starbucks meet next week. i talked to robin and i want to check out his car and a few others.

i know this is a long shot, but has anyone read any posts or anything related to my old car by chance? i kind of miss it and would love to see how its doing/see if its possible to buy it back.

worth a try i guess. i searched and didnt find much..

I'm gonna try to be there in the dirty green boat, depending upon what time a particular holiday party starts. ;-)

Back to lurking,

Jon

Hey dudes-

Just to let you know, my (Joe's old) black TII is running, and running well. It needs a good dyno tune, but for ***** and giggles it is tuned good enough for 10lbs of boost.

This may be my autoX car next year. It sure is nice having a street legal RX-7 again. The GTU is fun but not being street legal means truck, trailer, ect., and I don't have all that. So it just sits and rots (rusts as it were).

I'm not sure, but I think with the boost controller and blow off valve, I'm bumped into Mod. Otherwise, it would be ASP, since it'll be the same setup as the old '87 but with a turbo motor .

The headlights come on but the guage cluster lights don't, and i definetly smelled some electrical fry - hopefully the lighting harness didn't go too.
