i dont want to post it up yet, until i am sure that we have secured a good amount of parking spots. What they offer and what they will ultimately give us can change, so i want to make sure its solidified. They are reviewing my proposal and our recommendations. Then i will review it and make changes and see where we both agree. Then once i have made super sure that its all good then i will begin hitting up all the rotary spizots.

Thanks guys for the support its mad work and hope that everyone enjoys the event, and im open to suggestions feel free to email me anytime. Thanks

EDIT: Referring to posting on other forums lol

I have a vendor I would like to bring if this goes to plan, are there any special requirements for a vendor to attend?

yea umm, summer slam is NOT a "family" atmosphere.

let's see how many will bring their girls and wives so they can witness the bikini contest.

this isnt a rotorfest replacement, its just another event, you basically skipped what rotorfest originally was intended to accomplish.

Fun time with friends and rotaries with some good food.

wish you luck with it tho, me personally I would NEVER park my car anywhere near a mazda3, mazda6, or Mspeed at a car show. Our cars are related to them only by name, otherwise, theyre ****....i should know i work on them all day.

also as for this:

"Please note that rotorfest was a parking lot made of grass with NO BENCHES or adequate facilities. This place has that and much more (bikini babes lol). "

all you need is people, cars, food, and a bathroom. all this other **** is kiddie ****...ohh lets go look at bikini babes. grow up, no chick is gonna go bang you because your car looks nice. I'll stick to just hanging out with rotorheads and building crazy rotary **** all night at my shop.

kevin.

teknics, we realy do appreciate your opinions. No one is telling you go look at the bikinis (I wont, have plenty at home) If you think your car is too good to park next to another car then you have more issues then you think. I will be hangin in our section talking to other rotor heads and people who enjoy our cars and the uniqueness of them. If all goes as planned, we will have vendors in just our section, so no need to go anywhere else. I do not agree with one statement you made, there was never good food at any of the fest's I went too (last 4).
Thanks for your support

kwerks, once we get more details, we can move forward with vendor selection.

yo whats up with all the negativety, this is not exactly rotorfest, but this will be a great event for our rotary community, don't knock it before it starts, our rx7 is almost gone hard to find, expensive parts, and this will hopefully open some eyes, and if your 7 is worthy it might end up in a mag. or nopi tv. guys lets do this, lets do this for johnny man!(matt dillion in the outsiders)i can't wait!

Well i dunno why you have such negativity teck. Thing is this, did anyone else set up any ROTORFEST replacement event? SO why knock something, and event that is giving you the opportunity to attend to be together with your fellow rotary ppls.

You came to a NYRA meet thats ROTORFEST right there. People parked together, BBQing, Eating food, shooting the **** and talking to eachother. And guess what their are pistons cars parked next to us in the Bear Mtn, LI, NYC parking lots, but regardless we are all together chilling and hanging out, so whats the real difference.

You can never please everyone, people want a nice track like etown, boom get etown now people have problems withthe location, parking, being parked with fellow mazda what gives.

If you dont like the event you dont have to attend, make your own. Given the time no one else has stepped up to MAKE AN EVENT thats comparable so why try to **** on what im trying to do.

If you go to any NYRA meet its like RF (but better), so dont say that there are no venues for us to be by ourselves. I have a bigger vision, and you cant judge by the first event that will be put together after the RF fiasco last year. ONly time will tell the progression of this.

If people want to do their own thing and think that im doing something bad, let me know right now and i wont waste my TIME working on something for the community (the best way possible given the current circumstance).

yo just let me know, everyone has the right to speak up, if you dont want this sort of venue, then we can just have a big meet like we do in NYRA and just chill, bbq and shoot the ****.

I know you cant please everyone but i dont want to waste my time if no one is going to appreciate it.

:SIGH:

dont listen to them jason, people want this, people who understand what this is about what this, there are going to be people there. even if it means finding every 7 and 8 i can and putting fliers to be there on their windshield and in their mailboxes and taped to their door, and to all their windows, and stalk them till they beg for mercy!!(lol)

In the end, no matter what any of the negativity ****** are saying, this is going to be a great rotary AND Mazda event! It takes a lot to put even the smallest event together and everyone in the rotary/Mazda community should be happy that you even have people like Jason together with some of the members of NYRA organizing an event like this. The whole point of this event is meet and converse with fellow rotorheads, Mazdaheads, and have fun! So please stop adding any negative comments that will do nothing in the spirit of unifying all of us in something we all like to do.

Im 20 miles south of Etown and autocross there regularly with the SCCA NNJR region so its easy for me to make. I think the idea of a MAZDAFEST is good. Im interested in seeing what these MAZDASPEED(3,6, Miata, Protege) owners are doing with their cars. I don't care too much for the whole Summer Slam event thing however.

not to mention the whole separatism is why the rotary is slowly gonna die......why not try to revitalize it by showing people what we are all about?.....no one will know what an FD is if they only see it in pics and you hide it in your garage or refuse to go to an event like this....you are not that l33t......and people say us 8 owners are snobs....cmon.....we are trying to put it together for all mazda not just the rotarians....this is how we show who we are and uild a rotary community

$6500 is damn cheap for a track day. $100 for 65 guys or $160 for 40. We're used to paying $150-$200 per day and having the track filled with 75 to 100 cars (divided into 3-4 run groups).
