when ever i get my stupid bumper for my mercury, ill come down. gen it shouldnt be that hard to do. they used the same metal stamp to make the fire wall. cut the j-spec one out, tape it to the us-spec fire wall. use a marker to mark all the j- spec holes. cut out all those.make good cuts those will be used to fill in the us-spec holes.

if i cant get down there in you time frame, can you tack weld. if so just tack weld all those blanks in the us-spec holes nice strong tacks not little wimpy ones . put tacks every 1/4 to 3/8 inch around the hole and use seam sealer. when you talk weld dont just go clock wise do it liek you would to tighten wheel bolts criss cross ect. do 4 tacks a hole then move on to a different hole. then when all holes have 4 tacks add 4 more to all of them. this will pervent warping ect. then use seam sealer. thats what i was going because doing full welds will warp the fire wall. i was talking to my old welding teacher he converted a rhd car to Lhd (ac cobra) and he told me its a bad idea to do full welds.

if i came to you id have to rent one. the mig welder i have access to is one me and my buddy are borrowing to weld up the 1984 rs turbo capri that him and me own. its his dads friends but we have had it close to a year. i dont have stainless wire right now but if you want to go half in with me we go buy some. 20$ each.

 

would 40 bucks buy enough for the whole project?

the DP is going to have to be Vband and i was thinking maybe even make the MP and the catback flange Vband for that pimp factor. will you have the welder come next month?

 

if i can have the part for awhile i can tig weld it at work but who knows how long id have to wait to get time. but mig will be just as good.

it is duck taped tied on.and 2 wire hangers lol "no more wire hangers" lol and i bet no one know what thats from.

on the side closer to the muffler it is 75mm which by google's calculations is 2.95275591 inches and on the cat side of the resonator it is 65mm which is 2.55 inches. what i would ideally like to do is keep the resonator..

i think the t04s is a jornal bearing turbo and the t04z is a dual ball bearing turbo..

I need a safety inspection and emissions izzy, i just bought the car. It has no cats and a 3 inch downpipe. doesnt seem to run super rich though.

 

and on top of that Andy, you could tune it super lean for the test. or just find a stock NA
