I blew my motor yesterday. Had to limp it 180miles home. Rear rotor has no compression. Looks like I won't be up for a meet for a while.

Anyways, anyone hav ea 13b-t or 13b-re for sale?

I dont know why the rear rotor always blows first.

And I dont know why mazda was stupid enough to go with a 3 piece design. If they went with a 2 piece. Im sure these motors woudl last well beyond 200K miles

Sounds like you all had fun. My son and I have been prepping an 88 T2 for SCCA SM2 Solo 2, he just got his license this past fall. We would love to come and see your cars. I'm not fond of F1 Boston, frankly Racing America in Foxboro is a better setup. F1 is mostly flash and not much substance. Racing America (or RA as we call it) has two tracks that can be run in either direction and even combined to make one hell of long track (for indoors at least). They have an arrive and drive program too! Check them out at www.racingamerica.com. Don't get me wrong, F1 is fun too, but the tracks are too narrow and the karts are poorly prepared (not all equal). My son would love it though, at F1 his best runs are in the low 19's on Track one and high 14's on Track 2. We'll keep watching this thread for future meets. April 2nd doesn't work for us. My son is racing at RA in a Junior League race event. Have fun and keep it on the track!

Hopefully we'll be able to hook up with everyone and bring the AE and the Supra (black on black, hardtop, cloth seats which makes it very light....11 sec car).

I'll plan on April 2nd.

Slo Motorsports - how much does your son weigh? (Strange question... haha.) Low 19s for track 1 is impressive - training for F1 someday, perhaps? I wish I got started with karting that young. Do you have your own kart for the league, or do you use theirs? Recently I've been looking into buying my own and racing at F1Outdoors or Limerock..

...or maybe autocross...

I've never been to Racing America - we should all go sometime.

He weighs 160 lbs. In the Junior Leagues, all drivers who weigh less than 160 lbs. have to add weight to the kart to bring their weight up to 160 lbs. My son raced there for two years and took some advance karting schools. It never made sense to own a kart seeing that we planned to move to SCCA Solo 2 and future time trials (w/COM).

There is another group called Endurance Karting (www.endurancekarting.com) that travels to Limerock, Beaver Run, Englishtown, Oakland Valley, F1 Outdoors, Moroso, etc. They provide an arrive and drive for 6 hour endurance racing as well as some sprint racing.

Racing America is a cool place to. Pretty much all of the racers from F1 bolted to Racing America after it opened. They're thinking about doing an outdoor track too!

You guys are cutting it close. I've got the last parts to get my FD running coming in on Friday the 31st. Hopefully I have it on the road by Sunday. Otherwise, I'll be working on my car all day Sunday.

If you take the one day school at Racing America I believe that they will let you do the arrive and drive at 17. Call first though. This would not apply to F1, only to Racing America in Foxboro. Maybe future meets can be held there to allow everyone to participate.

You should come anyways! The last time we went (March 5th) there were people who didn't drive - it's more about meeting and looking at/talking about cars. On the 5th, we talked for an hour in the parking lot and then another hour at lunch before we raced.
