Massachusetts MEET
Hey Mike, we'll see you at NHIS. Rick and the rest of the gang going to F1, have fun and don't forget to complain like hell about the ill-prepared karts. If you get a dud, just raise your hand and pull off in to a safe area. They have to get you a replacement kart and restart the race (at least that's the way it worked with the junior racing program with David). Just complain like hell. You are paying big bucks to get good karts, not something that runs like sh*@. Rip it up. We'll be at NHIS with Mike ripping it up there. Let's compare notes when it is all over.
Christian, you need to take a look at Assumption College as a "safety school". We all went over there this past Thursday and although, it is no Bryant, it is a nice campus. Check it out. No Freshman cars but then again, it would keep you and David out of trouble.

welcome home indeed. it was nice to get away from everything for a week. i acctually pulled into my driveway the other day and almost jumped when i saw my car(i had forgotten about it). it made my day to see it. new hope!!! how was F1? and NHIS?
how could you forget about the 7? thats always a great welcome home present or good morning present. F1 was good. it was a really good turn out, not too many people, not too little, just right. i lost all organizational skills when i arrived though. we had 2 separate parties doing 2 separate things at different times. but it was a good turn out. my best lap for the day was a 20.068 on my last lap of the third race. next time, i need to stop messin around with the drift BS and race. i figured i get enough race in the big boy go cart (RX-7) i might as well enjoi myself in the go carts.
shawn/david- what were the results from NHIS? did you guys get any more points?

We didn't stay around for the end results, but in SM2, I think that it was just the Civic (#87) with the really tall driver (with the strange name) and me. We had Heat 1 and it stayed dry through Heat 2. He beat me by 0.04 though, but I should still get second place points. It rained through the afternoon runs so there was no chance of me catching him.
David had a tough time finding the course. It was a relatively small area (compared to Devens) and the course overlapped itself in the middle. David only had one clean run in the morning and I'm not sure if he had any clean runs in the rain in the afternoon. We'll have to wait to see how many racers were in Novice non-stock to see if he picked up any points. It was definitely a record for David....1 out of 6.
We got out of there at around 4pm. Home around 6:30, so it wasn't that bad. It's not a great venue so I doubt we'll ever go back there again unless it is to race on the real track.
So we're looking forward to Devens on the 3rd. Who's going?

car is BACK IN ACTION!!!!!!!!
put the new intake mani back on today and for some reason she felt like starting this time around. i don't even know what i did different from the other 3 times i took it apart and put it back together, but this time it worked............. until i took it for a test drive. i adjusted the TPS and got it idling perfectly. i take it down the road and when i took my foot off the gas pedal, the throttle stuck at about 3700 rpm. i didnt think much of it, figured it was the tps again. got to the gas station, and filled up the tank. got on the highway and gave it pedal to the floor. i let off when i saw that everything was as it should be (boosting correctly). i let of the gas, but the car kept accelerating. *oh *****. because it was free revving at this point, it wasnt pulling any vacuum. i was having to brake to keep the car from accelerating. the zero vacuum factor led to my brakes failing on 495. *OH *****. i was with Mike and he suggested to put it in neutral. did that and it restored vacuum. but the throttle was still sticking. limped it back to the house where i found the ultimate problem. for those who have seen the FD TB, they know where the throttle plate adjustment screw is. it is kind of on top ad it simply pushes down on the throttle mechanism to open the plates a little for idle adjustment. well it had some how gotten lodged behind the throttle and wouldnt let it close all the way. fixxed the problem. now i just need to fine tuine the TPS again and check everything with the throttle and it is good as new.
I am sooo happy right now. and once again, thank you Pete and Paddy for coming and taking a look at it. but i still don't know what really was the problem??... atleast it is good to go now!

i also decided, because Rick's car is named Mia (i think), that my car needed a name. so from now on if i refer to *Adriana*, just know i am talking about the 7. THE 7 CAN'T LOOSE!! I AM OVERLY EXCITED!!!!
You guys are getting a little too attached to your 7's. It's weirding me out. Christian, I am glad that you got your car running. I guess that we can plan on seeing you on the 3rd of September at Devens?
Hey Rick, what's with the clutch? Will we see you at Devens?
Pete?

I don't think I have anything going on this Sunday. I might join you guys.
Christian, I'm glad you got it running. Did you drive past my house today? Someone with a black FD did. Is there another black FD in the Worcester area?

well, it definitly wans't me. i just got it running like right before dusk. but if the trend remains the same, i wouldn't be surprised that there is in fact another black FD. i think i should be going to devens on sunday. i think i acctualy have it off from work this time!
dammit all! there better not be another black FD in the central Ma. area! i might be able to go sunday. it's my gf's last weekend in the area, and her families having a cookout for her. my car's still down, and the RX-8 still has the blizzaks on it, and the Legacy still has factory suspension, so im pretty much fresh out of cars to race. we'll see though, the outings not gonna last long.
christian- glad everything is slowly getting put back together.

if you guys don't mind me bumping in where is this "devens". I will hopefully have my car running within the next month but I am having problems with electrical noise and my megasquirt can't see rpm. Anyone think they can help?(sorry to go off topic)
it's on topic. no worries. Ft. Devens is a air strip in Ayer, Ma.
Here are directions from NER.org:
Follow 2A all the way to the Devens Commerce Center entrance.
You will go through a rotary about 5 mi from I-495. Continue on 2A which is the second exit in the rotary (straight across, just past the McDonalds).
You will then go about 1 mile and be in the center of downtown Ayer. 2A will take a right turn just past the main business district; there will be a Mobil station on your left at that corner.
Travel about 1/2 mile. About 3/10s of a mile after Dunkin Donuts (and just past a power transfer station), take a left onto Bishop Road.
After the cemetery (on left) go through the first gate. About 1/2 a mile after this gate, bear right at the 'Y', then turn right at the 4-way intersection, and proceed up the hill, through the gate. This will take you on to the site.
if you want to map quest it, look up
