I have two stock FD axles if you want.

I thought you had upgraded chromoly ones. If you're still snapping those, you may need to look for something a bit stronger tho . . . :P

I wonder if the lifetime warranty on CarQuest axles will cover the snapped axles.

How do they break? I'd think the CV joint would pop before the shaft would break.

Maybe. Let me get the car finished first - I haven't really driven it hard to make sure the rear is in good shape. You got 3.90's? I don't think I want to have to change it twice, and I really want to either use an auto diff or swap to a Cobra rear, especially considering I'll probably need my driveshaft re-worked either way.

well 2 things involving my car

1) my car CAN do at least 137MPH
2) the engine sounds weird when you blow the EGR plate off the back of the head of a Supra

I personally think you should do the Cobra rear.

I do have 3.9 gears, but only for an N/A. Sorry!

Yea I think I should too. But that whole project would be more time consuming and cost a lot more than swapping in a TII diff. I don't think anyone is selling their cradle - there were only about 10 made I think. I'd have to have one fabricated myself, and buy the rear and have axles made. If only I had a machine shop.

Oh, I thought you were implying that you already HAD the Cobra rear :p

Seriously, swapping in the TII _CARRIER_ is much easier :p No driveshaft mods.

I say you do that and run it till it blows up.

I doubt the speedometer was correct at that speed, however :-p

And you blew an EGR plate? That is insanity :p Bolt it in HARD next time

For those of you that are familiar with thermal wrapping exhaust components ... how long does it normally take for the stink to disappear?

2-3 days in my experience....unless you're actually burning something

check the heat rating on your exhaust wrap... might be gettng too hot for it
