For a couple days I was thinking what life would be like not owning an rx7... and what i could buy to replace it. I basically came down to a MS miata, or a 350z, either way it'd have to be rwd and a good power to weight ratio. i.e. 250hp or greater.

 

for a couple days I was thinking about what it would be like to own a working rx7.... it was beutiful

 

350Z has terrible blind spots. Kinda heavy. Oh and replacing OEM tires (when i checked a year ago) was something like 130$ each for the rears.

a lot of people are giving good marks for the new miata... you didn't really mention anything about new or used so. old miatas are nice.

 

mazdaspeed cars are only available for one year.. (as far as I know)

Yeah it'd probably be new, and I wouldn't really be purchasing till next spring, so that rules out the MS Miata... Those 350z tires are still cheaper then my audi tires at 240 a peice for toyo t-1s and 140 for kuhmos in a 245/35/17.

you cant lose buyin jim's car... but the new new ones are gonna be UGLY ... dont get the new version 9/10 cars with the suzuki lookin grilles that are comin out soon... gayness right there

 

A subaru dealership up in PA has a couple. The standard World-Rally blue and a silver one. Some people have gone up there already to take pictures. I'm still on the fence about it. Everyone says that at any angle, every picture makes it look bad =( but you should really see it in person before making your final decision.

You could always just get an "ok" car now and wait until feb07. With all the money you'd saved from now to then, you can get a plane ticket and go see the premiere releases of all the cool stuff at the tokyo auto salon.

If not new, ebaymotors. I saw an FD (salvage) in NJ for sale last night .. 6k. If you know someone that works at a bodyshop that owes you their life, there was a FD for sale for ~6500 but the entire car was painted that nasty chamleon.

 

I like how the STI looks... it looks mean and pissed-off...
