okay....any of the MoCo guys know of a decent shop to take my car to to get the engine done? (doublecheck the block i have ready and swap out the bottom end with the one already in it)

my normal mechanic is usually backlogged and a little on the pricey side.

I just ordered the racing beat turbo back. I'm kissing that tax refund goodbye.

It's like eating a tub of ben and jerrys half-baked. It's soooo good but you feel so guilty afterwards.

Amir could probably take a look at it, he'll diagnose everything thats wrong, gimme a call at 301-518-2362! He does a pretty good job, he's certified toyota master mechanic, has like 4 or 5 ASC certifications or somthin. He got Brandons 240 past inspection, but that thing was a mess, his engine bay was ghettofied.(he's also an inspection station, and doesnt car about aftermarket parts).

i need someone to do the actual install labor. how much you think he would charge? remember the supra has a LOT of stuff under the hood. its the most complex engine bay ive seen in any normal street car.

i didnt bash...just stated a fact. 7's have pulsation dampener problems resulting in yer entire car going up in flames (fixed by either replacing or removing it)....supras had headgasket problems from the factory that resulted in a BHG (fixed by tightening the head bolts from the stock 59ft-lbs to 72ft-lbs)

my problem was due to UE on my part for not flushing out the oil with the rebuild lube..leading to bearing doing its job and getting eaten alive. ( had some nice looking metal flake motor oil )

I can vouch for the "up in flames" part, but I'd like to say at the same time that while I was on fire I still beat the civic and whateever else that was next to me that had a loud muffler...or in jason speak "fart can"

----Ok, I took of the air pump and the acv is still on, would that cause any idle, starting issues that any of you guys know about.
AKA...My car turns on and when the idle gets down to 1500rpms it keeps going down and stalls. You can keep the car on with the gas peddle, but that don't help me much.

Yes. You need to take the ACV off, and cap all vacuum sources running to it when you remove it. Right now I'd guesstimate you've got a pretty big vaccum leak. Get yourself the proper block off plate, and plug the hole in the back of the airbox that the pump pulled air from.

I have a acv block off plate for an NA I can sell you :P: I don't know if that would cause idle problems, but it might considering the acv might be letting air out of places now instead of pumping it in.

-Myk

do you really have to cap the airbox? it's before the AFM...

It's UE to not replace the PD prior to it starting a fire.
