Like I said earlier these places are just using the system to make money and get over on the state and regular people. 250-350 is a little steep for a car thats in better condition than half the **** boxes with MD tags on them I see running around. Where the hell do people get 1984 ford escorts inspected. They didn't run right to begin with no less meet MD's tight bullshit standards.
why dont you fix it CORRECTLY first.
i ended up getting mine inspected at 2 separate shops cuz the first one failed me on my non-stock muffler (its not even a ricer muffler)
but i was glad i did cuz i found out a bunch of problems my car actually had. treat it like you would an engine rebuild. "Do it right the first time or not at all"
(goes off to see about putting in ANOTHER rebuilt engine in my car after the last one only ran for <3 months till i killed it.)

MD inspection is crap, those people know they have you, this one shop told me a bunch of BS problems and then charged me ANOTHER $75 for a RE-INSPECTION after I fixed the problems and brought it back!
yeah Jason I paid twice as well. I might try a used car dealer. They sell some serious **** boxes and all those pass inspection somewhere. I might have to drop a C note down to get the hook up. I will let you know.

On the topic of cash, your buddy owes me $5
Try getting it inspected at US 1 car sales/repair on conowingo road just north east of bel air. I get all my 7's done out there, they passed a leaking ABS pump, and two out of spec front rotors (after I got them turned which then put them under usuable spec).
I really think it's mostly because they don't do a very DETAILED inspection of the system, as long as it doesn't shake violently when braking, and there are no check lights on...
I know they will check your wheel hub play.
Almost forgot, they missed a totally shot sway bar endlink. As in you can move the endlink all over the friggin place cause the rubber rotted out of it, very obvious problem.

I have an S5 GTU in pefectly stock mechanical condition (2000 miles on the rebuild, 195k on the body) (aside from an intake and street porting) for $3800. The body has some dents on the passenger side, but it's nothing serious. A body shop quoted me 450 to fix the problems. I also have a new front passenger side fender that will be installed shortly. The paint is a 4 out of 10, as mazda paint just... sucks anyway. I havn't had an Rx7 with stock paint that looked good.

What? Getting a rolling chassis to run on its own? You dont buy a rolling chassis to restore it to stock (unless it is a very rare car). Usually you buy it to combine another car with it, or to turn it into an all out racecar. And the price to make it whole? Thats a whole other deal.
And Akuma, most FC RX-7s run around 3K. 10K is rediculous.
