Dude, the pinto could be made to be a wicked fast car.

The stock engine, a lowly 1.6L (W Code) or the german biult 2.0L (X Code), or later the 2.3L (forgot the code) was (up till about the year 2K) the basis for most hardcore rally turbo biuldups, capable of churning out a fantastic 200HP reliably under boost and with the restrictive controls placed upon the modifications.

In stock form, the pintos are garbage. The first pinto (1600CC) put out an abysmall 53 BRAKE HP. Thats like 29 or less HP to the wheels. However, it WAS an OHC engine biult in 1971. Even the 2.8L V6 option offered much later in the product lineup churned out a whopping 93BHP at 4.4KRPM. Sure, they didnt weigh much, but they made up for it by exploding when rear-ended. Wonderful. The last insult of the pinto is that the engine ran forever.

Anyway, the motor mounts and transmissions easily accepted any large Ford engine you wished to drop in, from the aftermarket-friendly 289/302 engine, to the 351W proformance truck engine, or even the rare 351C Big Block.

I personally would rather a 60's stang.

Well as of 2 nights ago the FC was untagged but running (a bit rough though). As of today, the FC is tagged but wont idle anymore. I've replaced the entire intake manifold, trottle body, TPS, BAC, all solenoids, and all vac hoses. Now I feel as though I'm back to when I first got the car. So if I can get the damn thing to idle again that will be one more rotary back on the road.

FC is officially on the road. Still have to get a horn to get through MD inspection though. Does it matter that the locks on the inside of the car arent connected? Its a redundant question really since I plan on fixing the locks tomorrow anyway but I guess I'm just curious.

I like these stickers better, I don't have the audio one in my car yet, I need to photoshop it to make it look more like a sticker first.

EDIT: OH DEAR GOD! Something happened when I tried to up load the pictures and it took me back to page one of this thread.....I think i need a doctor....so....scary.....

to put it short....if you have it on your car...it needs to work.
first inspection on my supra...one of the failing points is that i couldnt adjust the passenger side mirror. another one was that the AFTERMARKET fog lights didnt turn on with the STOCK switch (go figure).

just fix it all up so they work and you should be good. if nothing else take it...see what fails. they cant fail you on anything else after the initial inspection.

Yea I'll take it by an inspection station tomorrow and see what they complain about. If I get home from work early enough I might even take it today and see whats what.

in canse you didnt know, MD inspection takes an hour to do the full tests. most inspection stations are a little backlogged and ask you to leave your car overnight so they can get it in the morning. ive only had it ONCE where they did it as soon as i came in to ask.

Yea I still have it but its an S4. I'm trying to find an S5. I'm really debating on doing anything else to this FC motor as its looking like I'm going to end up getting a reman FD motor for my FD and rebuilding my current FD motor for my FC. Prolly end up getting a used PowerFC for the FC off ebay.
