Hey Jerry, if you can stop by, I should be home tomorrow evening. Saturday evening we're going out camping. Call my cell when you get a chance. You can ogle the FD when you stop by ;-). I pick it up later this evening.

Hey Ren

Did you make it out to Wacky last night . If you did , sorry i did not see ya . I dont think we have met yet . The car that has the part you need will not be on the road any time soon , so my offer still stands . If you need it , its here .The 2nd Rx 7 out there was a guy named Chris Buckley, he has a 90 GTU's . It was his first and only time out there . He lost a bet to me and had to run last night , hahah. He did great for never being out there . Sorry guys I ended up in 3rd last night , getting bead by a built up mustang. Ive got to find grip on my front tires .

Thanks to all who nade it out there

Just got home. Awesome drive!!! Except for the fact I had to refuel whenever the gas guage read half full(to be sure I had enough gas to find gas). At least half the gas stations I went to on the way home had NO gas. I was amazed at the gas mileage I got, 23-26mpg. Who's the local FD guru? I've already got a list of things I need to do to the car, the car creaks, sounds like a bad bushing, radio and the speakers need to be replaced.

If I can I will. I promised the kids we'd go camping this weekend in NN Park. But I'll probably have to come home to take care of the dogs. If I do, I'll try to stop by.

hey bryan Randy told me about you trying the t2 swap...if you need a kit I can make you some mounts so you dont have to do any extreme body mods or anything that may harm your drive train

1985 GS for sale, custom turbo setup

I'm considering selling my car, and the car being in Chesapeake, I thought I'd consult you guys first. I've been working on the car for quite some time, about 3 years now, and never got it quite on the road. I moved to Richmond for school, and now I pretty much have no time/money/desire to work on it. Essentially, there are no miles on anything that I've put on the car in the last 3 years, since I havent been able to do more than drive around the neighborhood. So anyways, here's the details.

1985 GS, ~150k miles on the Chassis
-Body is in fair condition. When i bought the car, the first thing I did was have the wheel well rust professionally repaired, along with the underbody sandblasted and coated(800). Paint is fading on the hood and roof.

Everything NEW that I've done to the car:
-Tokico Blue shocks(200)
-Eibach springs(140)
-Sumitomo HTR 200 tires on stock wheels(150)
-rebuilt/streetported 12a(1800)
-new radiator(150)
-new water pump(50)
-Turbnetics upgraded s4 turbo(new compressor housing, all new internals), getting fed by a modified s4 turbo exhaust manifold)(800)
-professionally made aluminum -an flanges to hook up stainless steel lines to and from the turbo(120 for flanges and lines)
-spearco intercooler(something like 24x18x3), 2.5in inlet/outlet(500)
-Powdercoated/mandrel bent 2.5 inch intercooler piping(200)
-aluminum turbo hat made by rotaryshack(250)
-brand new OER 45mm racing carb, some turboprepping(600)
-k&n cone air filter(50)
-racing beat two-piece sidedraft intake manifold(100)
-msd blaster coils(50)
-aeromotive fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator(500)
-16 gallon fuel cell(150)
--8an stainless steel lines going from the cell to the regulator, -6 to the carb(150)
-Guages(air/fuel, boost, fuel level, oil pressure, fuel pressure)(200)
-indiglo gauge faces(50)
-centerforce clutch(200)
-clutch slave cylinder(50)
-relocated battery to behind passnger seat(30)
-turboxs type h-rfl BOV(130)
-manual boost controller(50)
-Racing Beat 2.5in downpipe(100)
-2.5 in exhaust, using magnaflow muffler, cat, and madrel bends(300)

That runs to about $7000 in new parts I've put into it. I know there's several things I've forgotten to include, but I'm sure I'll remember. A lot of the prices are guesses from what i remember, and I tried to include misc. costs.

now for what it needs:
First off, a new windshield. The current one is badly broken. The car will run, idle, and rev freely, and boost, but there are a few electrical problems that I can't quite figure out, such as a couple of fuses that blow frequently. Also, it needs some tuning, as I have a base jetting I was told to use for my application. There's also a few lose ends that need to be tied up. but for the most part, everything is fully installed. Also, it needs to be inspected.

Anyways, if youre interested, make me an offer! I dont want to let it go, ecspecially after all the work I've put into it, but it's far from practical for me now. Call me at 7576503199, email me at rowelljl@vcu.edu, or send me a pm.

If you would like to come see it, I need a heads up. I live about 90 minutes away from the car now, and I need to make sure that it's looking as good as possible when I show it.

for more pictures of the car: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/few-teaser-pics-my-turbo-project-335181/
theyre older, and some things are different now, but theyll give you a good idea of what my project is like.

Just got back from Summit Point... What a rush of a weekend. It was incredible, the new track there is awesome. Cool cars, cool people, cool fireworks, great weekend. Had a chance to drive some Hankook Ventus Z214 tires. Awesome tire, easily the equal of the Hoosiers or the Kumho V710:

I will give a complete writeup about the weekend later. Let me just say it was better than anything I have done in a long time.

Dammit!!!

When I first saw the car, it was kinda dark, but I did the best inspection I could. Took her for a short test drive, everything seemed fine. Drove back to the parking lot and parked in a different spot. I looked where the car was parked before and found a small oil spot. So I waited a while 20-30 minutes, looked under the car and it was fine. Get the car home let it sit over night and I find a good size oil spot under the car. I look at the turbo side of the engine, looks pretty good. On the opposite side, I can see oil on the crossmember under the engine. I can't quite tell where exactly it's comming from. The upper side of the engine is dirty and a bit oily(kinda covered with dust and dirt). When I left Memphis the dipstick was at 3/4 full, so I added a few ounces of oil. When I checked the dipstick after discovering the leak, it was just under 1/2 of XX'd part of the dipstick. So it seems the leak isn't major and isn't from the turbo's( I haven't noticed any smoke from the exhaust, but I'll double check in the morning). I'm taking the car to Hampton Chevy Mazda where Renegade works to get the car inspected. Anyone have any experience with this dealership? I want to get them to do an oil leak diagnostic. I'm hoping it's just the OMP or the oil pan. Fd's are infamous for the oil pan leaking. Thanks!

Glad you had a good time Cal. Wish I could have been there.

Sorry haven't been around to reply to the posts, been in Nashville since friday racing.

Hey Renegade, I appreciate it. I've got quite a bit of work to do, and some $$ to spend on it, so it'll be awhile. And if you braaa psh at this silver first gen, it'll braaa psh back... :P

Well, got a new car to drive while I'm doing the swap. It's a 90 Geo Prism....it's been dubbed "Tank".

Don't sell it Sudox....trust me you'll kick yourself in the *** if you do. It's a sweet car, and just needs some TLC. You're almost done with it, you'll regret it if you sell it.

Yoshi, I'll try to stop by later this week and pick up that harness and coil if Jerry drops it off, plus I gotta check out the FD. I'm pretty goot with general automotive, and I've replaced springs and struts on a local FD around here, so suspension is easy.
