Last night I took a short drive out and about. Went to Harbor Freight, dammit they were closed, went to Pizza Hut to get dinner for the Fam and then drove home. Popped the hood to help cool off the engine and I noticed this funny hissing noise, like something was letting off pressure. The noise stopped after a minute. I wonder if my vac or pressure chamber has a leak. Might explain my odd idle.

Busy day yesterday at the autocross. Dave brought out his really nice FD and ran. That car is very fast and Dave hasn't cut corners in preping it. All he needs is a LITTLE seat time in the car and he is going to be very very fast. Carl was also out in his '80 and laid down some very nice runs. Mom and I had brought out the Shelby today and we just didn't have a very good day. The course was not very good for our car, and I just plain drove like crap.
The TII with the LS1 conversion that Chris (AG Formula) from tidewaterracing.com was also out, but apparently Chris has sold the car to its new owner. The car could be a good autocross car, but he was over driving it and lost it pretty seriously a couple of times. I also talked to a couple of new people with RX7's that this was the first time they had seen an autocross, and they planned to come back.
In spite of my driving it was a pretty good day at the autocross, even though they did have and "incident" late in the event.

Can you mess up an Air Flow Meter just by unscrewing it from the air mass box? When i push on the gate inside my air mass box sometimes it opens up all the way, other times it feels like it's blocked. Is this causing the engine to die? It was working fine until i fiddled with the AFM.
Car is in Norfolk on ocean view.
