It was super easy to do and I've got plenty of black paint left over...

For durability I have been powdercoating most of the parts on my car including the calipers.

Yeah, I am thinking that I will get Kenny to powder coat my calipers sometime when he has the time, but it will be a little while before I get them on my car anyway.

Has anyone here painted their own car? I'm thinking about doing such a thing, and I'm a little worried. Are there any decent automotive paint shops around? Figured I'd ask you guys first. Thanks.

that's something you really shouldn't be doing unless you've painted before and have some experience painting unless you want your car to look like crap.

Yea, I'm considering just doing all the bodywork and priming myself, and getting someone experienced to spray the paint. I've done bodywork before, and I'm halfway decent.

The first car I painted is my Shelby. I did it in ~ 1980. If you take your time and pay lots of attention to detail, it will come out OK. That paint job is more than 25 years old now I guess and it has plenty of car show trophies :-)

But it did take me the a good 4 or so months to get everything the way I wanted it. I doubt it was really worth it, except for the fact that I was in college at the time and had next to no money, but lots of enthusiasm.

I did paint some other cars and with the time I spent, each time I could have gone to Maaco and probably gotten better results.

anyone around here have a clutch pedel assembly, a brake pedel for a manual and all the clutch lines and reservoirs and such. I'm doing an auto to manual conversion and i need all the clutch components for it except a clutch and flywheel. PM me with a price and I'd be happy to come get anything i can get.

You need to take your car to PFS, its about 4.5 hrs away. There's noone in the area that I know of that can properly tune a haltech. Please don't waste your money on these hacks like I did.

I need a wideband! It's driving me crazy, my car runs, but not that great. I know there's more power to be had from tuning (and more boost!) but there's just too much money that needs to be spent on other things (I've got stock brakes at the moment, on a car that I've at least doubled the power on. And if you read back a thread, you'll know that my car was involved in a slight accident that I had nothing to do with).
