Kenny what car are you swapping the REW engine into? I thinking about doing the same once I buy a single turbo set-up.

(translation).... can't afford it right now.

mike im interested in that hybrid built turbo.

the badly damaged one will be for playing with as in taking apart and seeing how it works.
other one is to make into a hybrid.

itll be a while till i get another big check but can you get this kit at any time, or is it a one time deal???

Met another RX7 nut today, Jeff. He has a vert and rebuilt the engine himself. But he's lookin' for an FD. Nice guy and luckily I had one of Cal's handy dandy cards to give him. He's going to try to make the next meet.

Autocrossers just use different tires in the rain and run.... It would take a monsoon to cancel an autocross. It has happened when there was like 12" of standing water on the course... but it takes something like that to cancel....

Oh and FWIW, we have run in the snow before... that was fun... Mom ran her old Bronco...

Put on my competition idler arm today and my new Falkens... I have done a nut and bolt on the front. I have some things to do to the rear, but I am getting ready for next weekend. This is the track map for the track I am running. It is a great track:

Turn 2 is really hard to get right, the 3-4-5-6 complex is very tough, and I don't think I have done the 12-13-14-15 complex 3 times correctly in all of the laps I have run there. It is the most challenging track I have ever run.

hey Johney , sorry for the delay in posting . I just now got the cable / phones and internet back on line . I dont know what worse , not having power or not having *** . I have generator but i could not make the cable thing work . I wasnt planning on going today , but I am hoping to make the next one once i have the car tuned . AS far as the REW , I'll probably keep it in the same car its in now , its super clean . I still have not sold the convert yet , but when i do its comming over here , hahahah

You get to run the Pit straight? When NASA ran there, we used T18 instead. Pit straight was used for Pit-in, while the standard pit was used for staging. I'll second Calvin's assesment of the track - very challenging, but also very rewarding.

I am pretty sure we will use T18. Dave said that he will decide when we are there. I am ok with not using it. I am not overly comfortable with running right next to the wall. Hard to imagine I used to run Charlotte, Rockingham, and Pocono regularly where some of the apexes and exits were right up against a wall.. Hell, back in the old days at Pungo the apex of one of the turns was the corner of a building.... I must be getting old.....

Autocross was great today. My new STREET tires are street tires, not R compound tires. That was hard for me to do. I guess I did not realize how spoiled I had become lately. It took me a couple of runs to "get it" but I did put out some decent runs finally. I think I won the class, but I am not sure how much competition I had.

BTW I just won the pot in the NASCAR race pool today. I had Kasey Khane and Reed Sorensor was leading wiht 2 laps to go, but ran out of gas..... Wonder how much it was. I think $5 x 43.. what does that work out to... I have had too many beers to figger it out!!!! But it is a nice bonus today... I won the autocross, won the racing pool... I did buy a lottery ticket for last night's win for life... I better check to see if it won.....

I can officially say that the RX-7 should have beaten Shawn in his Miata. I was being an idiot and pushing it where I shouldn't have. My car is certifiably quick now - I was beating on Fastest Time of the Day's door. Soooo close. 4.3 torsen, Megasquirt, Konis, and Kumho 710s made lots of difference. I still need to stop being so lazy and tune hot starts

Cool, but it looks like one of those old VW Rabbits with the multi color panels.

I have a friend who's looking to buy a 3rd gen in the near future. Anyone know of a local seller?

I think it is on this site, too, but I didn't feel like digging for the URL.
