Good morning all,
Johny, congrats on the win. I didn't go to any car shows =( !!!!!!

I spent the whole day, throwing junk out of the garage. I can actually put a car in now! I have to work on the other half but that will be another day, I have to go to work at night for the next three days. BTW, a couple of more rotaries are running next weekend at Richmond. There is going to be a few cars from the local area. A rotary powered datsun 1200 coupe, a rotary powered Suzuki Samurai, a rotary powered Toyota starlet and the Mazda GLC from Petersburg.

Finally!

Well the fuel filter on my FD finally got changed. Monty and Aaron came over last night and changed my fuel filter and helped me flush my brake system for a couple of bucks and pizza. Dunno which was worse, the brown gas comming out of the fuel filter or the brown/black brake fluid we flushed out. We used some fairly good DOT 4 fluid and installed speed bleeders on the calipers. The bleeders made a big difference in how quickly we were able to flush out the system. Though I forgot to buy one for the clutch cylinder...

From what I've read in the 3rd gen forum, brown gas comming from an old filter is fairly common and since I drive her at least a couple of times a week, I don't think it's rust in the tank. Though I think it would be a good idea to drain the tank sometime and double check sometime in the near future.

One thing though, there's another cap under the black cap on the brake fluid resevoir that had a black seal around it. The seal pretty much crumbled up so I cleaned off the cap and reinstalled it as we bled the brakes. Not sure how important that seal was, but I guess I'll take the car out around the block to test the brakes. With one hand on the emergency brake handle

Ordered a new brake resevoir cap. Amazingly it was only $2.89, Ray said it was like the cheapest part you can buy for an FD...

make sure it is already programmed for your car or you will be going through the same crap we are . we have to send the LT 10 back to AUS to have it reprogrammed .
