DC Area thread - The District, NoVa, Maryland
I couldn't do that to this car, it is too far along. I would consider selling it and building a rotary one with a custom frame and a composite body. That would be pretty sick.If you make it out to CFA sometime when I have it out I'll give you a ride. You wont believe you are in a GT6
I've often considered getting into an FD. But with as much care and attention my FC demands I just can't imagine doing the same with a car that costs so much more for parts. Idk, maybe someday a good deal will pop up.
My own FC is demanding all my attention. She hasn't ran since before the winter. And I haven't even owned it for a year. I can't imagine if I had the same trouble with the more expensive model.
FD used to be my favorite and now I think the FC is my favorite. Maybe because I now understand the car in and out? Maybe because of the price...I'd love to have one because they look beautiful, and the suspension is superior - however the lack of interior space in the FD really killed it for me.
The FB is too basic, too...simple. The low weight is appealing, but the rear axle cancels that out for me. The FC seems like the best compromise.

No disrespect to FC owners. Mine was normally aspirated with an automatic transmission. I think if it was a manual, the experience would have been much better
Regarding CFA, I believe that might have been the topic of this thread which i seemed to have inadvertantly sidetracked.
Is there a date?
I killed my FD at the track and it'll probably be a 60 day rebuild process (and yes, it is quite the expensive hobby)

What happened?CFA could start at any time now that were on DST and it's starting to warm up. RX7club folks show up "whenever" we decide to when the weather is nice and people are free. Check the NE regional forum for a 2014 Dulles Towncenter / CFA meet post any day now.
My first FC was given to me by my soccer coach after my 300zx got totaled. It was a 88 SE automatic with 44k original miles back in 2004. Got pulled by just about everything on the road, even a jeep once. Then the coolant seals went out about 3k miles later. But it was just enough time to fall in love with the rotary and find my current TII sitting outside a guys house several miles away (in 2006), $2500 later it was mine with a 11k miles on a reman engine, new clutch, injectors, etc. I'm still on the same engine pushing at or around 400 rwhp with compression still within factory specs
.
.My vert is set up similar too and dyno'd 400rwhp too!
I think I have one laying around. I was going to install it in my car but replacing the starter seemed to help a bit.
I've been wanting to run somebody! Nobody around here wants to play
. I guess open wastegate rotary scares ppl away? Going to DGRR again this year, so should have plenty of fine examples there
. Anyone else going?

I'll check this afternoon.
DGRR stands for Deals Gap Rotary Rally and is held at the Tail of the Dragon every spring. Pretty much the best car meet you'll ever go to. Plan on spending an entire weekend with some of the coolest rotary power vehicles in the nation and then hitting one of the best driving roads in the nation all day.

VIR, water seal, low mileage reman from a wrecked car. At least you didn't crash it, that sucks way more than replacing the motor ;P
Didn't get a chance to check my garage last night, I'll check it tonight though
PM your number and I'll text you some pics of it.
+9000!
+9000!
Now i'm all in. Who wants a garage queen!
I will be headed to DGRR as usual. I will always take any excuse I can to head home. It is worth the trip down.
Rocky - Drag strip in rotaries? Is someone bring a truck with a trailer?
Matt - You enjoying the G8?
