what's it worth 94 touring.. rough

found this guy in my home town. i'll give you the quick and dirty

77k, engine blew. he took it to his work, and someone ripped the front bumper off (which tore the CF fenders) and stole his greddy IC. then busted his driver window and took his ECU and Power FC. he has the oem hatch, wheels, ecu, 1 fender and 1 headlight. He said after it blew he pulled a plug and it had antifreeze on it. this was 7 years ago, it's been garaged since (until he pushed it out 2 weeks ago and i inquired about it).

he said 7 years ago he was going to list it for 7k... clean title too btw

oem white, black interior,, well... you can see the pics.

what should i offer for it? im thinking 3000-3500

it has the late model 3 dot tail lights on it and full exhaust as well. manual & sunroof with bose still installed and working he said

I would start off at 3 grand and try to haggle but couldn't pay more then 3,500 for a fd with blown engine and cosmetics. The mileage and interior is the nicest part of the car. Which shows me she can still be saved and worth some money. I ve bought 2 fd lower then 4 grand in my lifetime so its definatelly possible. Its going to cost roughly 1200 dollars to put her back to oem. Then engine work is roughly 2-5 grand depending what all has to be done.

hatch 400
tail lights 200
front bumper possibly 400
interior 2000

There's your 3 right there. If you can get it for 3 go for it

It's worth 6k minimum if the miles are 100k or lower

I think 3,500 would be a steel from an OEM 94 white RX7. It would be a project but easily rebuild able. I would love to take on that project.

Well you tried, 5 grand is not that bad but the money you have to put into it makes it a deal breaker. I paid 10.5 for a mint looking FD with barely any work.

Sometimes people are little stubborn with pride. I think if its meant to be just give it a little time. I usually ask to see the car then point out the obvious and then counter offer in person. When you mention cash in hand and in person it has greater effect on people. As a last resort if hes almost convinced to sell but just unsure ill bluff and tell him this is my last offer then Ill thank him for showing me the car, shake his hand and walk away. That has worked in my favor about 99% of the time. Just a little adviced from past experience's.

Hell no. At 5k with motor, paint, bodywork you'll be over 15k invested and thats not even addressing suspension/wheels/tires and other bobs and bits.

Dude was a dreamer. And a fool. What he hasn't come to grips with is...he will NEVER fix it. 7+ years of thinking, "SOME day, I'll fix 'er up...", yeah right. But he still thinks or feels it is worth an unrealistic amount.
Kind of like some of the guys seen on 'American Pickers'.

Personally I wouldn't go more than $2500 - $3000 tops on a heap like that.

Car is worth 5K IMO. Fritz will probably pick it up and make some money on parting it out.

I was close to pulling the trigger but didn't want the hassle.

The car has fairly low miles around 70 or 80k. Best move would be to restore it and sell for 17k plus

5k was a very good price

I agree that 5k is a great price. You cant pick up a rolling shell for typically under 4500-6k with no engine or trans in the midwest.
