I enlarged the eyebrows on my GSL-SE block for the same dimensions as my old TII half-bridge. This necessitated making them contact the aux port holes (I run no sleeves). Relevant dimensions: eyebrows are 8.5x32mm, the channel between the aux and std ports is 12mm deep. I also added a little tiny bit more closing timing to the otherwise stock primary ports, mainly to improve the flow angle.

The bottom end feels a little softer, yet somehow I had to add more fuel. The midrange and top end are MUCH stronger. My AFRs were at 12:1 with the old bridges, now they were leaning out past 16:1 before tuning

I am using a S4 N/A intake manifold modded to port-match to the GSL-SE primary.

Haltechs seem to be very finicky in my experience

You'll find that most pictures of "monster" port motors are generally one of two varieties. They are usually unfinished (rough port, no sanding, ect) OR rusty and dirty (as if they failed or never made it into a motor in the first place)
Something to think about.

I've noticed that too. Definitely something to think about.

The Mazda engineers have the eyebrow closing 10-15 degrees before the main port. I believe Rick Engman's final "ultimate" bridge port does the same. Yet a lot of people think it's a good idea to close the eyebrow much later than the main port.

The only time i know of monster ports being run successfully is in Eprod cars, but they aren't bridged just merged secondaries and aux ports. I have often wondered what an eprod engine would make with unrestricted intake? such as an ida or ida style itb. Anyone know?

yeah some dyno numbers would be nice. I am thinking doing a street port on my s5 NA just to give it a little bit more grunt but still be able to drive it without compromising reliability.

"Monster port" is a kind of bridge port.

IDA carbs ARE legal for E/Production, but you're limited to a 48mm carb with 36mm (I think) chokes.

S4 t2 front iron
aluminum RB center (no ports cut out)
S5 t2 rear iron
S4 AL housings, no inserts

streetport F/R irons
semi PP housings
S5 NA rotating w/ oil mods
banzai oil pan kit w/ existing baffle

Here's the YouTube video of the latest 6 port engine I am building for my '76 Cosmo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1Gy5sVMK3o

Very mild porting, designed to run a GT3076 with functional aux ports. Going for about 300 RWHP and 300 FT-LBs of torque with great low end and midrange (not too worried about the high end).

Oops, just realized I posted in the NA forum...
HA HA you knew from the beginning! but serious question what muffler did you add to not restrict power and not be overly loud?? i'm sure you went with a vibrant performance resonator but what else in order to make it not overly loud? did you really get 400 RWHP with bridge and a GT4088r turbo on 13 PSI? did you Vmount?

Well a couple of weeks ago I decided that I would try to free up some stuck ports and then snap. Well after that happened I decided that it was time to just remove them and some emission stuff. Then it started, tear down time, when in there I said to myself, who needs the air pump, who needs the air control valve, who needs an egr valve, and thats as far as I made it, so I called in the help a good friend and we went at it.

I removed the 5th and 6th port sleeves, blocked off the ACV and EGR. and added some timing. What a night and day difference. I can see what people mean when they talk about loosing low end when removing the sleeves completely, but not as bad as people made it sound. The only real difference i noticed was if I tried to give a lot of throttle at low rpm it did not seem to pick up as much as when the sleeves were stuck shut, but with them out, the top end of the rpm range is 10 times better, I noticed no real difference on the low end when driving normal. As far as fuel mileage, I didn't buy a Rx7 for the fuel economy so bam . So to me I would rather have them out and not have to worry about trying to make them work properly since I have a full header and straight pipe with some straight through mufflers.

This is just my thought and my opinion on my own personal experience.
