6-port power limit?

G'day,

Well, I just discovered that you can't port a 13b 6-port worth beans

So until I get around to building up a good 4-port engine (could be a while) I'd like to know: what's the most power the stock 6-port in my new GSL-SE will put out with external mods only?

And is there a manifold available for Weber or Dell'Orto downdrafts for this engine, or should I stick with the stock injection?

Thanks

J

without porting, i believe they will run around 180 HP with a good carbie and exhaust ...

with the FI still in place, i believe it should be around 160-165 HP ...

as for which is better ... well, that decision is yours.

Recent Info on porting the GSL-SE

Whoever says you can't port a 6-port doesn't know squat. They can be ported rather well, with very good results. The most important thing is to remove the exhaust sleeves and replace them with other less restrictive ones.

I posted this earlier:

Well,

I personally owned a GSL-SE that was street ported after the engine needed a rebuild.

It was a monster, ran a 14.53 (best) and mid 14's all day long, on pump gas. BTW, it still had the entire interior, Stereo, subwoofers, etc.

Other mods were: E-fans, Headers, straight pipe to prima-flow, Cone Intake for the MAF, stock 6-port actuators, the sleeves, and the Fuel Injection.

So, I guess it may or may not work for you, but I smoked the living **** out of stock TII's in the 1/4 mile.
Stoplight to stoplight, was even more embarrasing for them.

Back then, (early 90's), the only street driven N/A rotary that beat me was a Suzuki Samurai with a 4port 13B Bridgeport.

I am just saying that It depends on who does the porting, and how it was done. I know it can be done quite well.
