Rev limiter damage?

Is there any data on engine life issues when rev limiters are used?

I am familiar with the effects of NOT using one. What I'm worried about is any kind of reversal-shock effects on the stationary gears, apex slots, things like that.

I plan on using launch control and possibly an ignition-cut based traction control this year for my rallycross effort, but not if it'll adversely affect engine life. No trailer and 150-1000 mile drives = reliability is a must.

Dunno about "data" but I've heard anecdotal accounts of ignition cut rev limiters affecting apex seal life.

Supposedly the world famous k2rd exploded 13B was due to using the rev limiter too much.

I can see seal slot wear happening, not sure about the seals themselves.
