The BAC valve (IAC valve) perhaps. It's in charge of coarse-grained idle control.

Hitting that bump acted like a ramp after coming down off the overpass, the body lifted up, leaving the tires without traction...Anyways, that VERY FIRST TURN, RIGHT after the corner, there was an RV turning out on to the street. He was in the process of turning, so he was out blocking all 3 lanes. I was too close to him to slow down in time at the speed i was traveling, so i moved to the outside to pass, while on my brakes. I hit that bump at the end of the overpass, and the car started getting squirrely, wobbling a bit. The RV decided he wanted to hit that outside lane, so i had no choice to swerve back over to the inside, which caused me to lose traction. Once that happened, for some reason my back tires and ONLY my back tires locked up, and spun me around backwards. Then i spun around again to face forwards, and a second time backwards once again, hit the curb on that one corner tire, ripped the lug nuts right off the studs which allowed the car to slide (More like bounce, which is probably why the tranny is fucked up, maybe because of the sudden stop as well?) across the median, and bring the front end back around to where it sits. Somehow that tire ended up on the other side of the car out in the street with the nuts scattered. Damage seems to be centered around the rear end. At LEAST the back two wheels are gone (Along with chunks missing out of the tires i JUST BOUGHT LAST SATURDAY), i think the suspension may be fucked back there, the tranny sounds like it's fucked, the steering looks tweaked, the frame looks like it might be bent, etc. etc. etc... Won't know the full extent until after the insurance companies can take a look at it so that i have permission to dig into it.

sure buddy sounds like you were doing about the speed limit in all that. whats the SL there about 35? 45? I drive that road every day, on a motorcycle no less and i've never had the bump you're talking about unweight my car or bike. somehow maybe a thousand diffrent cars drive that road every day without incident, dispite the fact that truckers block all three lanes on that road at last 9 times a day to supply the local shops.

at least own up and admit you were wrong. I've seen your car, i've seen you drive. Its too small of a town to bs people.

I don't really care what you've seen or how everyone else's car acts goin down that road, protip; my car isn't a bike and it's not everyone else's car, until you've driven mine and experienced how it handles compaired to how everyone else's handles, don't try and act like you know. If you don't believe me I'll let you look up the ******* police report and read what happened from the eyewitness reports. When the cop on scene that saw it happen walks up to me and says that I was lucky and that it wasn't my fault, who you think I'm gonna believe? You? Someone that comes in here and starts talking **** to a guy that just got in an accident and wrecked his baby? Yeah, good luck. And why the hell are you highlighting ****? Didn't know you were a detective. First, last time I checked when you've already got the brakes near locked up, any sort of weight transfer is going to **** you over, if your as pro as you seem to think, you'd know that. The bump at the end of the overpass Is enough to jolt the **** out of me, it's a hard hit in my car. Ask minion. So naturally it's going to make the body lift slightly. Wow, big surprise, when your tires are locked you've got no traction. Second, again, once you lose traction in these situations it can be hard to regain it sometimes. Hence, car got squirrely on me. Last, yeah, it ripped the lug nuts off the studs. If you'd ever actually seen my car like you say, you would know that I just recently put spacers in the rear to give it a bit of a better stance, but hadn't gotten a chance to get longer studs. So they were only held on by about 3 or 4 threads. Again, ask minion. He was there when I put them on. I've still got the lug nuts if you want proof.

So like I said, unless you have something to backup your accusations, kindly shut the **** up. Thanks.

In Justin's defense, FC's do have pretty bad bump steer, especially when your 24 year old bushings are 24 years old.

Aaron, I have some stock springs and struts off of my FD. No strut mounts though. Lemme know if you want em.

Calm down dudebros, this is an Internet forum that everyone can see, not a UFC gym. The language is a bit rough, there's kids looking at these forums, including my little sisters. Justin, I'm glad you're ok man, sorry about your rig. I'll admit that I wasn't there and I'm not taking sides, but it does sound like you had a bit too much speed behind you though. I've had SEVERAL FC's and know that they have very very good brakes. I know that corner very well, as some might remember Rich Mazda used to be there and I bought thousands in parts from them, and I was in and out of that lot right there as well as on that stretch of road. It is a blind corner with lots of traffic, but an emergency stop from 40mph is not usually an issue. Just from my point of view, which is just my opinion, so don't get upset or take it personally, I find it a little hard to believe that you could have spun that fc almost two complete rotations from less than 40mph.

Again, I'm glad you're ok, and nobody got hurt. If you weren't speeding, turn in a complaint to the city. They do pay attention to stuff like that, and if there's enough problems on that corner they will do something to remedy them (lower speed limit, flashing lights, etc...). If you were speeding, that's your prerogative and I'm not your dad, but by your own admission on this forum, and stories I've heard from other members, you do like to rip around in the city and drive hard. Please take into consideration that every one of us has someone on the roads that we care about and don't want to lose because of an accident that could have been avoided. That goes for all of us. You don't want me running over someone you care about because I was out street racing.

We have a great track here. I have access to it basically anytime I want. If anyone has the urge to go drive hard, let me know, I'll put it together, I've offered it before, and the offer is still open. We also have some great affordable parking lot auto cross events, as well as a decent drag strip. We all have to step up and use these luxuries afforded to us to keep the public out of harms way.

Anyhow, sorry for the long post. I've been lying in bed for six days after surgery and I'm bored out of my mind, haha. Justin, let me know what parts you need to get her going again. I do still have a fair selection of FC parts. If you need any help going over her to look for damage or need help changin parts out, let me know. I should be back on my feet fro the most part in a couple of weeks. Glad you're ok man.

-Sean

Thanks, I actually already put in a complaint so we'll see how that goes. As for parts, I'm waiting on the insurance company to contact me today, but the main thing I'm going to need is a trailing arm. I also need a rotor and some other misc parts, but I was planning on buying that stuff already; need to do a brake job ASAP. I'll let you know.

Cool. I think I have some good brake rotors and very likely I have the trailing arm and any other suspension stuff you might need.

I realize it bends in a bit over on the drivers side, but that's because the front bumper is tweaked out a bit. Picture doesn't do it justice, looks sweet in person. And hey, for 10 bucks flat, you can't beat it.

Hay Aaron...what do you have for suspension? I'm still stock there so it might work if we work out a trade plus $. Let me know if you haven't already picked up the other set.

Ok, what may be a rather simple question, and yes I tried the search function already with variations of key words I thought would work. I'm over-thinking the problem, but does anybody know of a simple way to drop in a lug stud for an FD? I had one bind up on me and removing it was somewhat simple with a cutoff tool. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the new one will slide in past the rotor shield. I hate to bend the crud out of the shield and try to fit it back. I don't have a shop manual so I can't look it up. Anyone done this procedure before and have that magical aha piece of advice...Sean...???

hey Ya'll, so I am buying Bonez Clutch(upgrading my whole clutch system). I am going to replace the slave cylinder and master cylinder as well. Is there a company that makes them for the FC or do I just buy stock?

Anyone know the guy who owns the widebody FB? Saw it at the mall last weekend. Snapped a pic but I'm lazy and don't feel like uploading it. Didn't know there were any in town...
