Definitely a great event with a pair of very fast courses. Makes me wish I had an AS 3rd gen. The Miata's in my garage. We'll probably tackle it next weekend. See you at divisionals.

 

Had a lot of fun, but definitely not enough power for those high speed courses!

No. Since this is a Divisional, the RGR board decided that they would charge for both days without a one day option. It's a bummer because this is a slightly more expensive event.

 

Ok well maybe I will come down and watch. I here we only get a few runs during those events so I guess its not a big loss.

The run count is dependent upon how many people show up. The only rule is that each driver get a minimum of 3 runs per day. If we get a turnout of 60 drivers I'd expect about ten runs on Saturday and six on Sunday. The course has no overlap (by design) so we can potentially have four cars on course; however, it will most likely be three cars on course. Have you seen the course map?

Work has me going down to Albuquerque for a few weeks at a time, hopefully I'll run into some of you guys while I'm down there. You'll spot me quick I'm sure, just a beat red-head S4 with S5 tails and a Utah plate.

Hopefully I can make it to Sandia to check out the drift events. Sunday the 1st is my 24th B-day too, hopefully I can find some entertainment. Might just drive around a bit and explore, can't say I've ever been to NM.

 

I have not looked at the course map, but I have to take my cuz to the airport on saturday so I would not be able to compete in the event. Im bummed but not much i can do.

Hi guys.
How was the event?

 

The event was pretty good. Things didn't go as smoothly on course as they could have, so we didn't get as many runs as I was expecting. The average lap time for the combined weekend was 122 seconds, so the courses were fairly large. It was a great weekend and a successful event.

 

wow so the bmw project is gonna end up being a no go till i can get another one it got towed off and i cant afford getting it back out of impound

Anyone planning to race the autocross at Sandia speedway on June 4th? You can't use "it's too far away" as an excuse!

 

I'll be there, I may bring the Z though, the FD is not ready for prime time yet.

 

im signed up for it! This event looks awesome. Do you guys know what the races in the middle of June are all about?? it says they are rgr events (i could also be reading the schedule wrong). Any suggestions for a hotel close by?

 

I'll be there for the June 4 event. The June 20 & 21 events are an SCCA road race at SMS.

 

Sandia Speedway is way out in the middle of nowhere so you're going to have to head back into Albuquerque to find a place to sleep. I don't know what places are good/cheap in Albuquerque since i don't normally stay in hotels here haha.

Glad there are going to be a few of you guys out there! I'm signed up but won't know if I'm going until the day before.

 

Ah the road races! got ya. This event looks sweet, would you guys suggest looking at the map for the event since it cant be changed up 2 much or.... can it change the day of just like the other the events? Also someone was trying to steal my car last week with a coat hanger. Thats what it looks like to me, i can show u guys the scratchs/marks at the next event. c u guys there.

It's always subject to change due to many different factors. It should end up looking somewhat like the map though.

I'm new to the Clovis area and keep seeing a nice red FD w/ aftermarket wheels & hood. Looks pretty nice, just checking to see if owner is here on the board. I was the guy in the black MR2 that parked next to you @ Walmart x.x

 

Just finished my turbo swap in my FC and its running beautifully.



Also lowered it a lil more.

 

Just got a 93 FD out here in ABQ, and wanted to say hey and post up a picture of it.

 

The new FD looks good but im in locve with your First Gen Cummins lol! I've always been a sucker for those trucks. Is it an intercooled model?
