Ongoing New Mexico thread
Gooose I would just buy the rest of that stuff new. Those plastic pieces you need are always broken when you find them in cars and I would just get a new oil sending unit. You don't want to take a chance of getting a used one that is broken.
Yeah goose, I would buy that stuff new. It's a little expensive, but I learned the hard way on my last three FCs that buying used stuff several times because it was so brittle/broken/etc that it was just cheaper to buy new the first time. My TII that I sold last year was so cherry, all of the interior plastic wsa new and I didn't have to worry about it breaking or rattling at all.
Who has the red FD on black wheels with the chrome lips? I saw it driving on menaul last night, close to eubank. That car looks great.
I get super excited anytime I see a rotary powered car on the road.

I saw that car too it looks good. I'm saving up for paint now guys by summer time this car should look good. I think I'm going to paint over my carbon fiber scoot hood. Not a big fan of it and I think a black car looks good when it's all black.
This is my first time posting on this NM thread, hope this is ok. I live in southeast CO and I just wanted to say HI. I think that the NM events would be closer for me to go to since most CO events are held in Denver or CO springs. When do you guys normally schedule events?? Any SCCA or other tracks days in the works??
I have a 85 gsl se.
I look forward to coming to events.
have a good day.

vcs2340, welcome to our little section! The scene around here has been pretty dead lately, but I am going to try and get some things going this spring for us. there are some new people running around with 7's and 8's that I would like to meet. I also race motorcycles and work really close with all of the people that run the asphalt track. I am going to see if i can put together a couple of track days for us, and if we can get enough people committed, maybe we can put together a super 7 series or something like that. Keep an eye on this thread or possibly a new one on this section. I will post new things as I put them together.
vcs2340,
Check out www.rgrscca.com They don't have the schedule up for this next year, but they will definitely have a fair share of events out in Farmington. There are a few people that come down from Colorado to race when we are up there. You can check out some of the course maps/pictures and see how big the lot is too.
I'd definitely be down to do some track days out at Sandia if you guys get something set up! I don't usually do the car meet thing.. But if it was an rx7 one I would think about it

I'm all up for a meet soon. I don't drive my Rx-7 in cold weather so I'm waiting for the temps to come up. It's killing me because I haven't been to a cars, coffee, chili and speed event in awhile. If we have one soon I'm going to have take my ae86, but I'll show. Jan 22 is the next event. If anyone is interested in going I'll show up. I might be there anyway. Gates open at 8:00.
I posted here before but this forum looks more lively as of late. I'm down for a meet and greet up north since I have not been to Albuquerque since I moved here 2 1/2 years ago. I might even try to snag a White FD and Black FB I have seen running around on Holloman AFB if you guys put somthing together. I'm in the process of switching bodys on my FC's so I should be running as soon as it starts to warm up.

I am having trouble finding the rules for car classification, on the rio grande scca page. Anyone have the PDF? Also a lot of the dates on the page are for 2007. Does anyone in this area race at the SCCA events?
thanks.
spencer
thanks.

The rules are straight off of the SCCA website. Here is a link to the .pdf of the 2010 rules.

If you tell me what you have done to the car, I can probably point you towards the right class.
Also the RGR webpage was just updated last night with the latest schedule. Here is the link

There will be an autocross on Jan 29th at Cliffs Amusement Park if anyone is interested!! I probably will not be racing due to the fact I don't have proper wheels/tires just yet, but will probably stop by.

If you end up having an open spot for a co-driver at any of the local events, I'd like to drive the FB sometime. My current plans are to prep one of my FBs for FP, but that won't happen until a while after I graduate.
