you would have to input the lambda data for e85 before the ecu would correctly identify the values.

im sure you would have to richen up the lambda table too suit, as its usually richer mixtures to get the same desired result with e85 versus gasoline (maybee haha) im jsut internet answering, not been there and done that answering.

And sorry on the misconception of what you meant about e85 and its use

I am about to get this next week. However, I am still trying to figure out what lambda option to get. We have the option of getting the NTK AFX. The LSM11 is old technology, but was wondering if the Motec LTC will work:

I don't think so as that uses CAN and the M2R's don't have CAN communications.

For it to work with the M2R, I suppose I would have to purchase the Motec SDL (http://www.motec.com.au/sdl3/sdl3features/) for it to enable the Motec LTC (http://www.motec.com.au/ltc/ltcoverview/ ). I am almost sure this is what Revolution is doing with their TC2000.

Ah, yeah if you're going to get a dash, you can use the LTC.

M2R brothers -- I'm tuning my car again. This time with a set of ID1000 injectors instead of my old Bosch 1600s. Anybody still out there? I'd like to share some MAPs and tuning tips.

I am right there with you. I am trying to set everything up and it seems we are all running the same thing.

Yeah BeefCake, I concur that it was nice to see some action back in this thread! I'm lurking since my M4 could be considered the M2R's old brother and both have awfully similar DNA.

Though I'm unclear about the exact differences between the two ECU's, I think it would help to specific how the 3D maps are setup. For instance, I'm mapping to RPM/MAP/EMAP, when most use throttle position in lieu of Exhaust MAP (EMAP).

I'm also setup with four ID 2K injectors fueling E85.

Personally, I'd love to see ignition maps if some one wanted to share.

Davin, I'll see ya next weekend. Still haven't found the time to troubleshoot the latest wrinkle so I'm thinking about trailering the car to the Carlisi Memorial.

If you want, send me what you have and I can see if I can find anything. You should drive it there. Trailering is going to be a bitch with that distance. If you need any help or have problems, I grew up 15 mins from Gordon and my old house is 10 mins from him. I also happen to work in the same particular building as you...

I can build out a step by step when I get home tonight. If I recall, you just have to go into your program folders and it should be right there. My file is named "Batmobile Setup". I just use 'Search' in the Windows Start Menu and you will find it

MoTeC M2R File

For those that are wiring up a MoTeC, just remember that the trigger wheel sensors are magnetic and no not require the extra wires that are included in the M4 harness, which the M2R uses.

Please see attachment for how to correctly wire up the trigger wheel sensors. Note that the ECU common ground wired should be Y'ed together so that you only have three attachments to the ECU.

. . .
If memory serves, the M2R is rotary-specific, so it can't be used with a 4 cyl. Also, the M2R does allow for running 4 individual coils, which the M4 didn't (at least that's how it was a few years ago).

Here are my Timing MAPs (main and split). Both MAPs are based of the PFC ones, but I set the split to negative in the idle region like the RX-8. I have to admit that I haven't really noticed a difference vs zero split at idle.

You're probably not going to get rid of the flames completely without a cat and/or smog pump. That's why Mazda had an anti-afterburn system on stock engines. For the FD it was implemented through the idle speed control valve, on early engines it was built into the ACV.

As everyone knows, I have an M2R as well and just had a rebuild. Now the engine is not functioning and I am afraid the ECM is blown. It has a base tune from Aaron from Full Function Engineering and tweeked further by R/T Tuning. I am at my whits end and if that is the case with a blown ECM, I am parting out this car and never looking back. I have not driven it for 5 years, it is always needing something and I am ******* sick of it. WTF would cause this?

have your local MoTeC rep take a look at it, go from there.
It's always a never ending battle with hot rods, but 5 years is quite a while without driving...

Check for powers on the ecu if nothing just take the harness out n send it to a motec dealer like mentioned above maybe they just wired something wrong cause it happened to mine, they forgot to add a switched 12v wire......
