Guys, check with Herblenny (Phil) to see what the plans are. He was talking on his
site about maybe caravaning down on Sunday to hit the mitty. It costs $20.00
advanced or $25.00 at the gate on Sunday to get in. I think it would be worth it.

There will be a bunch of OGTA guys camping at turns 3,4,5 and theres also the
GA RX8 club on 10A (so I've heard). Plus there will be the mazda corral in the
infield by the GRM tent as usual.

Yep, we will be in 10A.

RXeckless, I've pointed Canuk8 to this thread. I think he is looking to drive down also. Maybe you guys can find a point on the trip down to meet up?

Please pardon my double post but I thought this worthy.

For those of you that have never been to this event and are interested in the kind of show we might expect... this is a video I shot at the 2006 Mitty Mazda Race:

Here's a couple shots of Camp Tim last year. Mind you, the marque was Datsun.

The more Canadians the better and with the handle of "Canuk8" he welcome to meet-up with the Ontario contingent on the drive down from the land of ice & snow. Still to early for exact numbers but it's looks like you all will be hearing a lot of "eh's" at DGRR and the Mitty.
Cheers

This is one of the unexpected positive things to come out of having DGRR and
the Mitty on the same weekend. If your driving in for DGRR you may as well
come on down for a day to do the Mitty for all this other mazda fun as well.

Saturday and Sunday are the best racing days, with Saturday having the most
activities around the infield. I'm going to try and get up in time to sign up for the
Kumho auto cross this year so I can flog a Miata around the cones.

Thanks for posting those pics. It shows just how much space there is to get around, not like the Petit Le Mans.

Oh yea! The entire infield is accessible via car and walking. You can even get within 25 yards of the cars in turn 6 and 7. I don't think there is a better spectator track anywhere. I was shooting photos from inside turn 6 one time of the SuperBikes. They really lean down in that turn. When I enlarged some of my images, I could see the tach and speedometer and see how fast they were going. Great track for access!

You have to buy a 1 day pass to get in and you may need a parking pass as well.
That would be $20.00 to get in and $10.00 to park in the infield where we all will be.
These are advanced prices, the Sunday pass would be $25.00 at the gate.

So $30 to $35 bucks to spend the day with us. If thats a show stopper, we could
meet in the outside parking maybe.

According to a news update from Holly, Jim Downing, 69, is currently running #18 (started 43rd) in his #63 RX-8 at this year's running of the Daytona Rolex 24 hours, with one hour to go.

Let's here it for #63!

Bump.

Getting closer to Mitty time. We need to get a better idea of how many folks will be pitching their tents at Camp Tim so that he can get working on the home brew.

I'd love to go and bring my car.... just too far to drive on my own, especially with a 25 year old car that sucks fuel!

Hmmm.... maybe i could ship car and fly me down....
