I'll be at the Dream Cruise meet for sure.
Speaking of the Dream Cruise, I know a few of you have met my rusty FC with 204k miles. The engine in it finally let go last week
. I don't know what happened. I was on the way home from picking up pizza, and I took 2nd gear up to redline and lightly kissed the rev limiter before turning into my neighborhood. It drove through the neighborhood perfectly and idled perfectly in my driveway before I turned it off.
But, the next time I tried to start it, it made a metallic clattering sound as the starter began turning the engine and then refused to start. I did the usual de-flooding procedures and dropped a capful of oil into the spark plug holes. After that, it finally started up but ran really rough on one rotor
. I hooked up the compression tester and discovered 0 psi on the rear rotor.
I'm still pretty baffled by it. I could understand if it immediately let go after hitting the rev limiter, but instead it drove perfectly for the rest of the drive and only had problems the next time I tried to start it.
It sucks not having a car though. Having an FC as a daily driver probably isn't the best idea
.
Anyway, every cloud has a silver lining. I'll be able to salvage a bunch of parts for my rust-free project car. I've already harvested all the 5-lug parts (the project car is a 4-lug base model).
Maybe everyone will finally get to see the rust-free car running and driving this year!

Damn Ted. That sucks. I know i ran mine on one rotor just fine when it blew and thwn the next time I tried to start it... Nothing. Hopefully you can get something going before the cruise. By the way do you have an extra oil pressure sender laying around?

And if any one has a lead on a free/cheap TII starter it would be much appreciated.
Rochester, its upstate about an hour east of Buffalo. Those are pretty old pics it needs some TLC atm but should be able to get back into shape! I need to get a some new molding for the drivers side and some brake work but I will have it in the spring, here in MI. I just recently graduated from UM in April.
