So it sounds like Old Chicago in Iowa City, we need to plan a day that the majority of people can come. Sooo I know the weekend of May 15 is a no go the Subaru Shootout is that weekend and I think me and Brian are going.

Just a couple dates, April 17, May 1st. What do you guys think?
Series 4 TPS
-Orange - (+5V)
-Green/Red - Signal
-Black/Red - Ground

Series 6 TPS
-Brown/Black - Ground
-Green/Red - Signal (Narrow range)
-Brown/White - (5V+)
-Black/Green - Signal (Full range)

Series 4 TPS Wiring---Series 6 TPS Wiring---------Series 6 TPS pin

Orange (+5V)---------BR/W - 5V+------------------3 - (+5V)
Green/Red Signal-----G/R - Narrow Range TPS---2 - Signal (Narrow range)
Black/Red Ground-----BR/B - Ground-------------- 1 - Ground
-------------------------- B/G - Full Range TPS-------4 - Not Used

FD->S5
Brown/White (BR/W) - > Brown White (BR/W) (Power from ecu)
Green/Red (G/R) - > Green/Red (G/R) (Narrow Range TPS signal)
Black/Green (B/G) -> Black/Green (B/G) (Full Range TPS Signal)
Brown/Black (BR/B) -> Brown/Black (BR/B) (Ground)

Wire it up then set the resistances

S4 TPS Resistance Check
A to B
Idle: 0.90 - 1k
WOT: 4k to 6k
A to C
Idle: 4k to 6k
WOT: 2k to 3k

S5 TPS Resistance Check
A to B
Idle: 0.8k to 1.2k
WOT: 4k to 6k

E to D
Idle: 0.6k to 0.9k
WOT: 3.4k to 5.1k

If he's blowing out gaskets he prolly has a fuel injector leak or running very rich. My 2cents.

Awesome! Thanks J! Yeah come to think of it he turned the safc all the way to rich before he drove it last to go road tune it. I'll tell him he needs to turn it down. What's ideal A/F's at idle?

Thanks for the info guys, i got the tps dialed in yesterday and the idle set at 750 solid. Its running around 11:1 afr's at idle, should i be getting it more towards 14s or 15s?

11:1 sounds good to me. Usually NAs run a lil closer to the 12:1 range at idle but I dont think it will be too bad a tad richer. If you want, slowly lean it out in small inciments like .2 or .3 AFR at a time until it starts to hunt then add more fuel (thinking .5 sounds like a good number).

My a/f's are around 14 at idle. There isn't load on the engine so I wouldn't think it should need that much fuel? I'm not sure though. 11.1 is what you want to shoot for under boost.

T2, preferably not all fucked up. Fucked up as in dented to hell.

Just got off phone with Blade. He says he will sell you a hood for 150 E. Its the one off his T2 so its already straight. Easy as pie. AND (somewhat best part) its already jammed white so good stuff all around.

11:1 is too rich.

You'll foul your plugs and I found it causes excessive heat (un-burnt fuel in the manifold burning off).

13's are good target - if you get can 14 on a rotary that's pretty damn good and very few can (I wasn't able to with 850cc but I think it had to do with my spray pattern/seatting of the injectors).

I'm moving to 550cc top feed primaries primarily due to the seating of the injectors.

There a are a few things to getting a good running rotary.

1.) Vacuum leaks
2.) Fuel injector seating
3.) AFR
4.) TPS
5.) Timming
6.)BAC/ICS

If you can verify/get those set you should be fine.

Once you get into transients that's a different ball game but for a stock computer get those setup right and your on your way to a fun car.

I still remember that, crazy times.

Not saying this to help me or Blade, but what about here in Dubuque? That way it's about the same distance for the QC guys and the Marion/Cedar Rapids guys so we don't have any fighting over place this time? :P We could do something like maybe Red Robin or BWW?

Holy ****. Who are you? lol Does he fabricate them himself cause if he did I could get him one to duplicate for a subaru and that would just be awesome!

I don't really care where it's at. My car will make it any where.

If it's in Dubuque just keep me away from the GTP that raced Blade, I don't want no part of that ****! lol

If you roll into the throttle does it do this?

You're talking about stomping on it about 5k?

If you're stopping on it - it's most likely due to the rapid increase in air.

This initial flow of air causes the fuel dropplets to stick to the side walls and the stock computer is not expecting it because it has two sets of butterflies to slow the inrush (primary and secondary butterflies).

After market EMS can accomidate for this but the OEM computer can't be changed from stock.

They use the TPS to add extra fuel (the electronic signal beats the air flow so it can increase the fuel before the engine even sees the inrush of extra air).

You should retain the double throttle if you don't want this problem if you are indeed experiencing the lean condition on a WOT stomp.

Yes it does it rolling into the throttle.

What I was seeing when we were doing a little road tuning on the SAFC is that the afr's were staying pretty decent up til about 4.4k it would start leaning out going from 12's-13's-14's and so on. So we added as much fuel as the safc would allow and it was still to lean up top.

The only thing I can think of is that with the front mount and hybrid turbo they are flowing too much air so that the 550cc primaries/720cc secondaries combo can't provide enough fuel for it.

Another thing I was thinking was maybe a post maf boost leak? Although if it was a boost leak wouldn't it run rich? I'm kind of stumped on this too.
