The manuals and stuff say the LT8 can run up to 25psi...but when i look at the maps it only goes to 20psi. Anybody can tell me why?

the map sensor can run up to 25psi but the maps only let you go to 20psi.
So if you want to run 25psi you need to richen up the 20psi map.

If you want to run 20psi +properly you get the 3 bar map sensor.

SO i would have to send the ECU back to microtech for the map sensor upgrade? or can it work with an external map sensor?
Do the Lt-10 etc come with higher maps?

just richen up the 20psi load band. There is nothing stopping you running higher then that, you just lose the resolution.

So if you say tune for 30psi (i've seen it done) you tune the 20psi fuel and ignition curves for the power at 30psi, it'll just run poorly for anything less then 30psi and 18psi.

The above advice can work.
But it dosnt work.
I stress to people dont recommend something unless you have tried it, end up causing someone elses misfortune. I have done it a few times and if the ignition isnt up for it youll end with a flat spot at 20psi, and even ignition break up and so on.

Of course it will cause a flatspot, but it does and can work, if you are only interested in peak power.

I've been tuning my microtech for a couple of years now on several different viechles. On my old Turbo Hilux (turbo 3RZ) i ran 24psi and tuned from the 20psi load point. But I only ever used the 20psi load map with BP Ultimate and octane booster. On the street i only ran 14psi.

I have run 26psi with the above setup on pump fuel, every day on that boost setting.

And after i finally convinced the custoemr to go 3 bar map sensor.
What a difference.

It ramped up onto boost 10X better and turned from a doughy 500hp car to a tyre fryer.
